In an excellent position, 2 minutes to the Hoe, 5 minutes into Town. For a budget hotel it was very good. The carpets on the stairs and landing need renewing but the room was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was first class with good service.

Our Stay at the Camelot HotelMyself and teenage family arrived for one night only in advance of a wedding. I called to ask if we could get into the room early to change for the wedding - arriving back very late. The owner was absolutely charming and extremely helpful, in fact, she was the most efficient and friendly hotelier I have come across. The owner provided car parking permits and gave general advice about the location and what to see / do. The room was large and bathroom was excellent - in all a very clean establishment which represented excellent value for money. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff again, extremely friendly. When it came to departure nobody was trying to push us out as many larger hotels are inclined to do. In all this is a relatively small, personable hotel in a great location central to everything in Plymouth. Look no further unless you want round the clock service and facilities - and are prepared to pay for them.

great location v friendly staffSituated right in the Hoe and walking distance to the Barbican makes this an ideal location. The room I stayed in was clean and quiet and the staff could not do enough for me.Breakfast was very good, quality sausages and "real" coffee.Would not hesitate to stay again.

If you are after service with a smile - this is not for you...On arrival, the reception was shut (we arrived at 3.30pm - check-in from 1.30). As requested, we rang the bell, and along came a young lady. She managed a quiet 'hello' and that was about it. We found her quite rude - shoving a registration sheet in front of us without speaking, then asking for payment before showing us our room. I found this out-of-the-ordinary. We were then given a key but no description of where the room was, how to get there etc. I was not impressed with the service.Having said that, the room was clean and comfortable and provided us with a stop for our brief over night stay. Breakfast was reasonable too.
