This hotel was just what we were looking for, clean, friendly and excellent value for money. We found the hotel staff very helpful when asking directions or travel timetables. The entertainment was superb, and even though we had no children we just loved their hour of entertainment too. We have no complaints whatsoever and would definetly book this hotel again. First Class.

The rooms are basic but clean, there is a daily maid service and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff were excellent and the nightly entertainment kept most people at the hotel so that says a lot. The food was fine but the kids did get bored eating in the same place, but there are plenty of cheap and cheerful restaurants around. The shuttle for Port Aventura stops outside the hotel which is very convenient it costs 3 euro per adult and 1.50 eur per child single, it stops at midnight which is early if you want to catch the closing show at Port Aventura but taxis and public transport are available too. The shuttle from the airport cost 6 Euro single per person, or nine euro return they drop you to your hotel and pick you up the day of departure. The swimming pools were a big hit with the kids and lots of sunbeds to keep the adults happy. All in all we had a great stay at the hotel and would consider going again.

Restaurant food was below standard, strange options (e.g. fried onion rings for breakfast). Hotel was too far from beach and salou.

This trip was our second to the Calypso Hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the entertainment, especially evenings. There are reasonably high quality spoof shows for the adults preceded by a kids mini disco. Both shows take place on the terrace which has table service. Sunloungers are chained until 8:45am and the main restaurant can become crowded. Food is good. Port Aventura is accessable by the tourist road train and the cheaper bus. Both stop very close to the hotel.

B+B was really unbelievable value for money in low season (Feb) Attentive friendly staff and buffet meals service with enormous and varied breakfasts. The hotel was mostly occupied by organised Spanish senior citizens' tour groups for whom different entertainments were staged every night in the lounge bar and they are much better dancers than Brits, even wielding traditional castanets and fans! Because it was out of season only a few other restaurant venues were open but evening meals were available in the hotel at 11 euros a head for three courses and as much wine as one wished, a little unceremonious but excellent value.
