The room was quite nice and roomy. We both enjoyed our stay and was very impressed with the ameneties the room provided and the great price we had for the room.We will definately check online for other rooms when we agian travel.

Nice downtown location. Staff at check in were not friendly. Clean rooms-nice casino.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is very friendly and the casino floor is full of interesting and fun people. I've normally always stayed on the strip, but the close proximity of the other casino's gave a good variety at a much more reasonable price, and the ability to get a comp cocktail while gambling was everywhere - almost non-existent now on the strip. We had a great time and I can't wait to go back. Room service breakfast was quick and reasonable, the Brewery and Buffet at Main Street are excellent. Highly recommend!

This hotel was located very close to "The Fremont Street Experience". It was my plan to get close and I was not dissapointed. The room was large and the beds comfortable. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, it was good. Very good variety of breakfast food that included fresh fruit. The coffee was the best! Was not impressed with the pool. It was kind of small. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and courteous. I would stay there again.

The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. While we didn't eat at the California, we walked across the enclosed walkway to Main Street Station and thoroughly enjoyed their wonderful breakfast buffet ($6.99) and had great dinners at their 777 Pub where the portions served are HUGE! As "older" folks, we liked having everything within a short walking distance vs. the long long walks in the hotels on the Strip. We would particularly recommend the Oriental chicken salad at "777" -- we split it and it was plenty for two. Even the maids were friendly and always said "hello" and "have a nice day!" There is nothing fancy about the rooms, but they are very adequate and very clean. Fremont Street is very close with all the shopping, gambling, food, etc., you could want. We met many friendly people from Hawaii, who always stay at the California (they said).

Customer found the hotel to be pretty safe in general, parking was conveinent, and not far from the elevator, vallet service was also available. The hotel staff were very professional, courtesy, and very helpful, friendly as well. The room was exceptionally clean to be such an old hotel, although they are not finished with their renovations. I found the hotel itself to be in very good condition. However, there wasn't as many of the particular slot machines I like to play.

The hotel was very nice. Employees were great and the shuttle to the strip was very convenient. Not having to drive all weekend mad it much more pleasant. I will definitely stay there again!

Thought I'd try staying downtown rather than out on the strip in the mega-casino. I was there 5 days for a convention at the LV Convention Center. Good experience. Very friendly staff. Works well if you're not afraid of public transit to get around. The hotel specializes in tourists from the Hawaiian Islands, so lots of Hawaiian and Japanese guests to chat with. Many nearby casinos offer lots of food choices. Don't miss the incredible buffet across the street at Main Street Station. Downtown prices are considerably lower than the strip.

This hotel impressed me as a very Senior Citizen oriented hotel. I saw many Seniors there and most all seemed to be enjoying their gambling experience. The coffee shop gave then good service even though the food left a great deal to be desired. The other ammenities also seemed to be cater to their needs. In summation, if your a senior tourist and want a comfortable place to gamble and average, reasonably priced food, the California Hotel is your place. If you are expecting excitement, shows or good food, find another place.

The room was great! Very comfortable bed and bedding. I like the way the casinos are linked together with the other hotel, we had a great time there will definately stay there again. So close to the Freemont Experience we could walk, everything was convienient and the price was fantastic! The only negative thing I would have to say about the whole experience was the noise the maids made way too early in the morning!! Could have used a few more hours of sleep before that interruption.

We like staying downtown, there's so much to do without walking your legs off! We've tried other hotels downtown, but this far exceeded our expectations! The self parking was so easy and the parking garage was clean and well lit. The elevators went right to the lobby and that made it easy to get to our room quickly. The room was average motel room size, but since we were only sleeping in it, that was fine. The room had been recently remodeled and was very up to date with flat screen TV and a refrigerator. The beds were quite comfortable and felt new. The room was very clean. The walk to Fremont Street took just a minute. The access to the hotel from the interstate or from Main Street was easy. This will be our downtown hotel of choice from now on!

the California is a ggod hotel and casino. easy to get around to the old town casino's and restuarants. busses next door to all of Las Vegas.

Good hotel excellent situation for Freemont Street just short walk away. Friendly staff and good clean room with maid service daily. No compimentary breakfast and no hot drinking facilities in romms. When you wanted anything you had to go and buy it. Restaurants in the hotel good, with good choice of menus. You are able to get local DEUSE bus into Las Vegas Strip for $ dollars per person all day, get on and off when you want. Can get very busy and bus gets packed, but they run very often so no problem wating for the next one. Would recommend if you did not want to stay on Las Vegas strip. Must see the Freemont Street Experience it was fantastic not to be missed.

The Hotel Cal, was very prompt in getting us our room, very comfortable, not very big but very satisfying service and stay. close to other old town casinos. I definetly would plan another stay. The only thing that i could say bad about this is may be4 the bell hop was not very friendly or seemed upset but we all have our days.

As soon as I walked into the casino floor, I intimidated by security guards, they followed me around, when i sat down to play, security guard stood on left side behind me,when i got done, but before getting up from chair a casino employee walked by i moved the handled on machine down. this is the worst casino experience I ever had since i been to vegas. another thing to bother me so much is that they did not had any hook-ups or wireless internet in hotel, they only have a computer with internet access ( pay by usage) but i could not used for my laptop because i must use a VPN connection that resides on my laptop.

We were there for a quick wedding so the suite was great and the hotel location was great. We walked to all the other casinos downtown. We did not eat at our hotel, just drank and gambled. We thought it was a great value and loved the suite, even though we were out late and in our room very little. The check-in person and bellman, were very helpful.

the hotel room was very clean and spacious. i found the beds to be very comfortable. the blow dryer and iron w/board were very good to have available.all of the staff that i dealt with were accomadating and friendly. the bell desk was very good to get me help with a situation i was having with local ground transportation. i also thought the casino was pretty nice and we ate great food at the pasta pirate which is also located there. the hotels location worked good for us to get a short walk in when going to freemont street. i will most likely stay there again on my next visit.
