Found a good rate on [...] however, the room was so small it was not possible for 2 people and luggage to be in there. Was charged heavily for a larger room. Had I known I would have stayed in the Downtown area instead.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, a bit of a walk to get to the town centre, but an easy walk.

I traveled to Iceland for an emergency family situation. I had no prior knowledge of Reykjavik. The hotel staff were VERY helpful and always patient with my questions. I was first placed in an interior room, with a window to the hallway. The room was very tiny- more like a hostel room and the bathroom fixtures were minuscule. I would only recommend this type of room for a single person who is only in the room to sleep. After 2 nights, I was placed in a pleasant, small room with a window and 2 single beds pushed together. The bathroom was small but much more manageable than that in the interior room. This room had a small table and chair, a writing surface, and a sizable closet. Would be great for a couple. The beds in both rooms were very comfortable. When I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign up, the maids always left a bag of fresh towels and t.p. at the door. Cabs arrived at the hotel in less than 5 minutes and the walk to the center of town was 20 minutes max if you traveled through the neighborhoods. The bus stop is right outside of the hotel- I learned that you can not sit in the bus shed...your bus will not stop unless you are standing at the curb. The city pool is wonderful and is a mere 5 minute walk away. I walked to the Kringlan (indoor mall) within a half hour. The view of the bay is beautiful- and the gas station across the street prepares a decent pylsur. I was pleased with the breakfast selection at the hotel. Delicious coffee, bowls of cereal and "sour milk", Iceland's traditional lunch meat, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, and several types of bread for toast. Juice also available. Hotel staff would arrange for any type of tour to pick you up at the front door. I was able to take the Blue Lagoon express bus out to the Blue Lagoon one afternoon. This place is not to be missed. Incredible experience that I hope to repeat someday. I could walk the nearly 2 miles to the hospital on well paved sidewalks. Felt safe in the area. This hotel is ple

Tiny room with shower. I needed to open the shower door to wash or I would bang my elbows! Clean though, definately somewhere to just stop over, no use for longer than 2 nights. No where to put your things other than a miniscule wardrobe. Staff were really nice and helpful and the brekky was ok. Only 10min walk to centre of town.

Clean, quiet and efficient - if somewhat impersonal.

Brilliant hotel for a week long stay in Reykjavik.

I stayed here 3 times in 3 different rooms - one great, one horrible, the other in between. ASK for a better room, and don't sign up for the cheapest room. Ask and pay for deluxe or you may be in a tiny room with no windows. The nicer rooms were really nice - and one had a great bath tub.

paid a bit extra for upgraded room. all excellent and no problems with the hotel at all, only issue was double bed was actually just two singles pushed together

I was nervous about this hotel at first because we booked it at such a low rate, but this hotel was PERFECT for us. It was a short stroll to the main city center, or a longer walk along the water to the city center, either way the views were great and the walk was not long or strenuous. I went with my sister and a friend, we are all in our late 30's. The room was a triple with three twin beds, and the beds were so comfortable, better than most rooms in the States. The staff was very helpful and always friendly, and the breakfast was basic but plentiful. A good variety of fruits, cerals, breads and cold cuts. The lunch/dinner they offer is also basic but very fresh and tasty. This hotel is on all the tour shuttle stops and you can book most tours right at the front desk. This place is not in the center of the city, but is close by and offers a comfortable stay. There are banks, grocery and stores near by and it is right on the water. The place is very basic but met all of our needs. We would stay there again with no worries at all.

Although listed as a "budget" hotel, Cabin is actually much better than I expected. The breakfast buffet was good, and the staff were excellent - very friendly and all spoke English very well. Although it is a bit far out of town, all the tour companies offer a pickup, and there is a bus stop not far away. There is also a supermarket nearby. Altogether I had a great time there!

If you are looking for just a clean, comfortable place to sleep at night this is the place. It has a great breakfast that comes with the room. We got the deluxe room, which just means it has more space and were very comfortable. Reykjavik is an extremely expensive place, especially hotels. It even had ocean views. This one was such a great find.

the basic rooms are tiny just a bed so spend a little extra and upgrade but its very good. very handy and the food is decent even if it is the same for breakfast every day.

We liked being away from the busy city center - so the somewhat removed location was perfect for us. The room was quiet and clean, although small. The beds were very comfortable, and we had no complaints at all.

Hotel is OK only if you really need an inexpencive place. Staff were a bit uninspired to work there and whenever asked about anything they didn't really bother to be nice. Breakfast is OK, but nothing over the average.

The staff was GREAT. We got there very late at night due to our flight and ride from the airport to Reykjavik and the two men at the desk were super nice and very informative about the city. The same goes for everyone during the day and were helpful in picking day tours and places to go at night.

The Cabin Hotel was basic, clean and friendly. The Beds were actually COT sized rather than twin, and the pillow was the tiny travel size. The room was the size of a train compartment and we had to take turns moving around it while the other sat on their cot. I wish that I could say better things, because the staff was great. They were as helpful as any place that we have stayed.

The small pocket sized double room was grossly over priced. Although spotless only one person could move around at a time. Very good breakfast. Easy walk into centre of town.
