I had a single room and it was very small & overlooked the courtyard, where people smoked. So I sometimes had smoke wafting into my room.

We visited for 12 days and hated to go home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but well appointed. Nearby restaurants were wonderful. Venice was a dream.

The view from our 1st floor window over not one but two canals compensated very well for the size of the room, which was tiny, but comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. Perhaps less enchanting without the view? Good location. A hotel to revisit and to recommend.

Great hotel in our favorite city in Italy! Close to everything, but very quiet. Would stay there in a heartbeat if we ever return to Italy.

When we arrived very hot sticky and worn out (up at 3 for the flight), it was wonderful to be welcomed and they were on the phone to check if the room was ready even though we were well before the check in times. How many times have I been to hotels that wont give you the room until the check in time.......but it was ready and we had a joke with reception stall who were really friendly. A really good hotel, excellent staff, rooms and location. Nice fresh simple breakfast in little breakfast room suited us perfectly. I would love to go back another time and definately stay there

Next time I'll visit Venice I'll be sure to stay at the Ca' d'Oro again. The room was excellent, bigger than expected, modern bathroom, clean, quiet, very friendly staff. Only slight "downpoint" was that the breakfast was relatively small, but that's really not worth mentionning, you still get the usual continental breakfast with juice, butter, jam, honey, bread, corn flakes, yoghourt, so nobody's gonna starve. :)

The only thing I can fault is the website's map. We searched for an hour with two tired children before we found the hotel. The hotel's brochure shows an accurate map but the one we received from the website was totally incorrect. Update that and there should be no problems. The staff were terribly helpful in getting us two rooms next to each other and were very helpful with every request we made. Breakfast, a typical continental breakfast, was tasty and plentiful.

Great location! Their newly-remodeled rooms are very clean, quiet, and well-kept. We had a great stay eventhough our baby was sick and one of our suitcases was stolen on train from Rome to Venice. Breakfast was simple and same for every morning, but they are good enough to start our days. Staff were mostly friendly (except the young guy at the front desk at night). Highly recommend this hotel. Will stay there again when we visit Venice.

Overall the hotel and service provided was very good. The room was, as expected, in an old city on the small side but adequate. A means of making hot drinks in the room would have been nice to have. The cost of the room was on the high side but again the hotel is located in a tourist centre where costs are probably very high. I would recommend the hotel to friends.

Ca d'Oro is a perfectly adequate, reasonably comfortable, air-conditioned place to stay. The staff are friendly and the hotel is well positioned to explore most parts of Venice, but this is a functional establishment rather than one with any 'soul'. The communal areas, including the breakfast room, are a little bleak and unwelcoming. Considering its site overlooking a canal, you feel Ca d'Oro does not made the most of its location. The single room I had was incredibly small, on the third floor and overlooking the tiny courtyard Corte Barbaro. Luckily, I know Venice and - arriving from Fondamenta Nuove - could find the hotel fairly easily and quickly (less than 10 minutes walk) , but I'm not sure how easy the directions are for those less familiar with the city. There was some confusion over whether the price included breakfast. Venere had told me it wasn't included, but actually it was.

The hotel had clearly been renovated to a very high standard; the room was good with air con but no fridge. Bathroom was well equipped. Conveniently sited for access by water bus and on a minor canal for water taxi pickup (necessary for early flight departure: expensive, but an excellent way to finish a holiday) Breakfast was simple but adequate. Staff spoke good English and were helpful. Well sited for bars and restaurants and yet near to the non-tourist areas which have more character.

A lovely hotel - small and tucked away, but in a great location to see Venice. We found it without any difficulty. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful. The air-con worked well. The hotel is advertised as having a bar, which is a slight overstatement. However, we were able to get a drink (from a very small selection) when we arrived parched from our travels.

It is a charming hotel, with rooms confortable and specially with a bautiful view to a clean and quite channel. With the references they give in their confirmation it is not so difficult as described to find it. I really adored it, and recommend to drink a bottle of proseco looking to the beatiful view. The room has the best air conditiones of all the hotel I satayed during this trip. really excelllent
