Worth asking for tea & coffee as this is not in the room, but can be provided at all hours on request- didnt realise this till I was told on day2

Good breakfast. Lovely room (Avoca - large room with four poster bed - small bathroom but still nice) very good value (Euro 99 B&B for the room for 2 peple) - good for a romantic break.

We telephoned ahead to check our booking only to be told that they had no record of us! This was the last night of our honeymoon and we thought we were going to have to sleep in the car! Once she was convinced our booking existed Cecelia, the duty manager, put herself out to find us a room. Even relocating a corporate client to the hotel next door. We were not charged for coffee when we arrived not for early morning teas and loved the place. Penny & Ian

This is a fabulous little boutique hotel. Stayed three nights and it seemed extremely well run with many personal touches. Our room was lovely and the bathroom both spotless and elegant. They have a snack menu all day and we had sandwishes on arrival which were very good. Coffee and tea is available all day for free (*) and the breakfast were fabulous. Personally, I was thrilled to stay somewhere that served leaf tea from a teapot, rather than teabags. And the final pièce de résistance was the homemade bread.This is the perfect place for a Dublin weekend. It is also very close the the Dart rail line into the town centre. Two very slight negatives: most of the staff are non-native English speakers and particularly at breakfast it was hard to make ourselves understood. I felt that when we ordered, the very sweet and polite staff simply guessed at what we were saying. We never had exactly what we wanted; and asking for brown sauce, or extra water for the tea was more difficult than it should have been. The all day free coffee and tea seemed a nice touch but on the occasion we had it, it took a long time to arrive. Also I found myself inhibited from asking for tea in the room after an afternoon nap and would have preferred the kettle!

Excellent staff all of whom were very helpful/curteous. v good breakfast indeed. Slightly out of town but I was attending meeting at RDS so very convenient indeed. Free access to good local gym with pool (2 min walk or 1 min run ! ). Would definately recommend checking it out.

Location is very good for access to and from the airport and the city centre. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and comfortable. Room was well represented by the photos on this website. Only significant point was that the double bed was two single mattresses pushed together rather than an actual double mattress.

Good hotel - we specified a double on booking but were kept waiting on check in (presumably while they found a twin room). We then had to ask for the double we had booked - when will Irish hotels understand that 2 same-sex people specifically booking a double = a couple and give a double without having to be asked twice!Nice rooms and excellent breakfast though.

Arrived late at this hotel and had to go out to eat and a lot of stairs at the fron tof the hotel to carry bags up, otherwise very nice.Rooms comfortable, staff very accomodating, nice breakfast.

Hotel relatively unknown to taxi driver so having full address with you at airport is a must (I didn't). Behind the Georgian townhouse facade lies a most welcoming small hotel where nothing seemed too much trouble. Only drawback would be there are lots of stairs so if you are infirm or have a heavy suitcase ( I did) it can be a little daunting. I had forgotten how sumptuous an Irish breakfast is and Butlers does not disappoint. An excellent night's sleep was also a plus point after travelling for days. Excellent

We found the hotel very friendly and the food excellent. The rooms were well fitted out and had all the usual features that you would expect. We were also able to use the gym and swimming pool of the hotel across the road and that was another highlight for us. The staff at The Butlers Townhouse could not do more for you and I would definately come back and stay here when we visit Dublin again.

An excellent hotel for adults looking for a peaceful break in luxurious comfort with very good service. Although it is not in the city centre, the 20 minute walk provides an enjoyable view of the city of Dublin. For a hotel with a difference that provides the best of modern service in tastefully restored style of yesteryear you will surely enjoy Butlers Town House.
