We have been coming to the Buenaventura since 1983.We have had excellent service from bellman, maids, waiters, front desk we also have met a lot of people who come back every year so its our home away from home. We feel very safe and well looked after. We have seen alot of changes over the years all for the better. Jomilka Cantres the manager is very friendly snd takes care of all your needs. We will be there Jan 15 stop by and say hello we will have a table at the north entrance to the beach.

We had a great time and were treated very well. The first night, 1 of the rooms A/C was not working properly, but was fixed that same night. Quick turnaround. Pool was amazing. Walking distance to "El Malecon". Must go dine at the "Los Palomar", excellent food.

My boyfriend and I just came back from a trip to Puerta Vallarta and we stayed at the Buenaventura. the location is great- just a 10-15 minute walk to the boardwalk or a cab ride. We found the facilities to be basic, clean, and safe. Staff was courteous to us, and accommodated us when we asked for things. There were some minor inconveniences, like one time our toilet did not flush, and the electricity was off for about an hour but it was repaired right away. We ate one night downstairs at the restaurant- it was terrible. The food for lunch seemed to look much better, though we did not take our chances after the one dinner. In summary, this is a basic, clean hotel, suited best for people who will be getting out of their rooms and will be out and about or at the pool. Not many frills, but we found that everyone was nice and accommodating.

The hotel was great. It was in a great location and a nice walking distance to downtown PV where there is the boardwalk and restaurants. The Hotel has friendly staff and a clean and perfect pool environment. The one negative is that while we were there there were numerous "grad city" groups where the groups of kids were noisy and inconsiderate. We were woken up almost every night from the noise.

This hotel was fantastic. First of all, the location was right on the beach and right downtown. We could walk everywhere. It's just north of the Malecon where everything happens. We met a bunch of other people down there, and their hotels were terrible. Buenaventura's staff was awesome. They treated us very well. I saw a few other hotels in Puerto Vallarta, but if I go back, I will definitely stay at this place. In fact, the others we met said they would stay here too. The common areas like the lobby, pool, beach access, and restaurant were great. The rooms could be a little bigger, but really no complaints. Plus, the price of this hotel was more than well worth it!

We reserved the honeymoon suite which we didn't consider a suite - not even a dresser for our clothes. The next night we moved to another room which was a suite (kitchen, living room & large bedroom with lots of storage. It was well worth the extra cost. The pool staff was great!

We went for a short anniversary getaway and I used these reviews to help me select our hotel. You guys are good. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed.(We upgraded online for the honeymoon suite) We never used the in room jacuzzi. Frankly, it didn't look very inviting and besides who wants to stay in the room when the pool area is so great. We never ate at the hotel because the location was so near many good restaurants. If you want a good, clean room at a good price near the Malecon (the boardwalk) so you can walk around and see the sites, this is the hotel for you

I must start by saying all the good stuff first. The hotel is a wonderful part of town. you are withing walking distance from it all. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are very clean. NOW the Food is horrible. They lie saying they have 7 restaurants. The beach is the WORST EVER . The activities? UMM WHAT ACTIVITIES? That place is soo boring . They don't even like to play music. HELLO VACATION means fun . These people hardly want to talk to you at this place. BORING BORING BORING and the food HORRIBLE. I wouldn't stay there again. I rather stay home !!!!!!

I've stayed at this hotel about 12 times. Would not stay anywhere else. The staff are great and the rooms are comfortable. It's a fun place to stay.

This was our first time in PV; hotel is not a huge fancy resort, and is located downtown. If you want a fancy resort where you don't have to leave to eat or do anything else, this is probably not for you. The hotel was pretty nice, staff was very friendly. The standard room was nice, and had excellent refrigerated air. One thing that bothered me was that there was no ice machines anywhere. You had to go down to the bar and ask them for ice. We did not get the all inclusive; we like to eat out in the city. The hotel location was perfect for walking to find good places to eat. We ate once at the outdoor hotel restaurant, and the food was not good, and it was expensive. The beach was ok; a bit dirty. I heard other hotels had nicer beaches when we were out there. The pool was nice and never crowded; we always found places to sit. We would probably stay there again, but since it was our first time there I would like to try other hotels.

the Buenaventura hotel and resort was great. the breakfast buffet was enormous and had quite a variety of mexican and american favorites. the waiters by the pool were great and all spoke good english. the property was gorgeous with all types of tropical vegetation. for me, the location was ideal because it was located a few blocks from the Malecon (shopping, bars, restaurants) and away from the americanized part of town. i would highly recommend this hotel!!! and plan on staying there again in the future.

It's a nice property but lacking so much when it comes to the staff.

The staff was great. They were friendly and most of them tried to be helpful. We wanted to use the hot tub, but you can only use it if you are paying for services at their spa. Which by the way is only open during the hottest part of the day. I also expected a little more since it was supposedly remodeled in October 2007. Maybe it was the newer beds. They ran out of all the good alcohol within a day of getting there, so for 5 days we had to get whatever they had left. We picked this hotel due to the location and the variety of food. When you are staying for 6 nights eating the same old thing gets real old. The TV in one room only received a couple of channels and they were in Spanish. The fridge didn't work in this room also. Our other room had several TV channels and they were in English. At least our rooms were clean.

Hotel was clean, excellent location & friendly staff (especially the bellboys & concierge). Dining options (menu & restaurants) were somewhat limited, but the food was good and there was easy access to downtown & the market. The beds were marginally comfortable... on the hard side (and I enjoy a firm mattress) but these wore our backs out. AC could have been cooler in our room. Our biggest complaint was that we got some mud on one of our bathroom towels. They wanted to charge us $38 (US) to clean the towel. We argued this point for some time at checkout and they finally agreed to waive the charge & clean the towel. In all, a good stay.

I stayed in beautiful honeymoon suite with my man and we enjoyed it immensely. We took a romantic bubblebath with an ocean view. The bed was huge and perfect for making love. I had an amazing weekend. We will definitely go back.

The hotel was good, but the room smelled to humidity. If you opened the window, it was so noisy. The beach has stones and the sea water was so dirty. I don't think to come back to Puerto Vallarta.

i like how close to the city center the hotel is, short walk to the heart of the action.

This is my 3rd time at Buenaventura and it's a hotel I would recommend to others. Very comfortable setting, great food and walking distance to everything. The rooms are clean. The only thing that I was disappointed on my recent stay was that there were a few employees that were very disrespectful, other than that I think it is a great hotel to stay at and was very pleased.
