I took a large group of kids to Abilene. Since there was so much going in Abilene that weekend, Budget Host was the only Hotel left. Bob the owner told my travel agent that they had a working pool. Upon arrival we found out that the pool was nasty, smelly and green. One could not see past a few inches into the water. Some students reported having HUGE roaches in their rooms, and there was a soiled towel in my room and a soiled towel in the student's room next to mine. Breakfast was old chewy cereals, warm milk and a microwave. One kid did find the fruit, a banana. One, banana was all of their "fresh fruit" offerings on their breakfast. One kid left their phone charger. We called and owner Bob said he would "gladly send it to us." 3 weeks later he finally sent it, COD, charging us $10 for mailing it to us, for a total charge of $18 for our charger. I found him to be dishonest and a cheat. No one should ever ever stay at this hotel, unless you have a pet lizard you want to eat the giant roaches.

There is nothing good about this hotel. Dirty, unsafe, complete disaster. Should be closed. I have stayed at this hotel before. It was old, but clean. This time it was filthy, mold around the bath tub. There was dirt and trash at the back door, inside the hallway. There were open electrical outlets, very dangerous, and exposed hanging light bulbs. This hotel should not be operating in this condition.

"Pd for a king bed, got a full size, room was tiny, not very clean and mgmt was rude. Ended up going down street to better motel for less $. I am asking, for atleast a partial refund. "

"This motel has a wonderful staff. they are caring and cordial to immediate needs. i was very comfortable and pleased with the rooms. better accommadations than most ""big chain"" hotels and at a discount price! I would definitely recommend staying!"

"For what we paid for our room, I expected better. The room was a non-smoking, which was good. The room stunk something awful. Almost like a mold or mildew smell. Avoid this hotel, it was not worth it."

"I have lived in many other expensive hotels earlier, and i was really surprised at the inexpensive rates for the excellent quality of this one. The location is prime (I-20 exit) and the service is good as well. "

"We had moved our child into the dorm at one of the local universities. For the price, room was clean and comfortable, though a bit outdated. There were signs that the property was in the middle of remodeling, which should help out a lot."
