Brynhonddu Country House is an award- winning 3 star bed & breakfast within picturesque surroundings in Pandy, Abergavenny. Ideally situated for walking, touring and activity breaks, Brynhonddu is set in the foothills of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park, within the Welsh border area known historically as the Welsh Marches. We are close to the Offa’s Dyke footpath and are close to many adventure activities such as hand gliding. Brynhonddu shares Bwlch Trewyn Estate with a working beef and sheep farm. The associated 'grounds' are covered by a blanket Tree Preservation Order which was initiated to preserve the wide variety of indigenous and non-indigenous tree species planted by previous owners. We are even fortunate enough to have one of the oldest Ginkgo biloba in the country. Cyclist & motorcyclist friendly. We have achieved Level II Green Dragon for our ongoing commitment to environmental management.

What?Our host most genial and interesting. The food good. He kindly drove us to the local hostelry for food and a drink. This was welcome as the Hotel is somewhat idolated. The rooms were most disappointing. The single room was the size of a modest bathroom probably 8ft x 10ft with toilet and shower taking up a large part. The double room was in the attic and entranced thru a cupboard like door. The two friends occupying it spent the whole time bent low. Using the toilet was the act of a contortionist.

Charactersome property.We only stayed for one night, having been invited to a wedding in the area. We found the owners very friendly and helpful, volunteering lots of information about the house and surrounding area. The rooms were a little small, but this is probably to be expected given the age of the house. Breakfast was wonderful.

rooms were disappointingly small and there were no views. Shower and sink cramped with nowhere to put toiletries. Very few facilities in room.No locks on the doors made us feel uncomfortable about leaving things behind when we went out. Mattress was old lumpy and with springs sticking through. Overpriced B&B. Neat clean and tidy though and proprieters were very nice and friendly.

we received a very warm welcome from the b and b owners and their resident peacock (Oswald). the place was easy to find and very peaceful. the room was lovely, comfortable and warm. the breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. they had lots of leaflets on the area and the husband in particular was very knowledgeable about the area which was useful to us as we wanted to know more about the area as my partners grandparents were from the area many years ago. the variety of treees and plants from abroad in the garden were impressive and very lovely. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldnt hesitate to stay their again. have already recommended to friends and family. very impressed, lovely!!!

Beautiful quiet out of the way location ideal for the black mountains and the wye valley. 20 minute walk to pubs and restaurant.
