Bryn Corach, situated in the world heritage town of Conwy, has magnificent views across the bay to the Great Orme and up the Conwy River to the peaks of Snowdonia. The country house, designated as non-smoking, has 48 bedrooms of which 28 are en-suite and all are equipped with a hairdryer, clock radio and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Televisions and telephones are not provided in the bedrooms. An en-suite room for guests with disabilities is available on the ground floor. Guests can relax in the three lounges, bar or large conservatory or play croquet outdoors.Meals are served in an informal, friendly atmosphere at tables for up to eight guests. A three-course dinner is served at 7 to 7.30pm for a charge of 18 GBP per person. If you would like to dine at the country house please contact the house before 6pm to make your dinner reservation. A choice of full English or continental breakfast is offered. To allow you to make the most of your touring or walking holiday, a self-select picnic lunch can be provided for the small charge of 10 GBP per person. Free car parking is available. Please notify the country house in advance if you intend to arrive after 10.30pm.Bedrooms are available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.The country house is an excellent base for those on an activity or walking holiday. Conwy castle is within walking distance of the country house and Penryhn castle and Chester Zoo are within an hour's drive.

Transportation:

FRom A55 travel to Conwy.Follow A547 signposted Conwy and at third roundabout take a left,over the bridge towards the castle and Conwy.Follow the road past the castle and bear right through the twon and Town Hall Arch,turn sharp left then right onto Sychnant Pass Road.Hotel is 200 yards on the left before the youth hostel.

Lovely hotelI liked this hotel. The location was good - easy walk to the town centre but not so close it was noisy. The walk back up the hill is easier after a couple of drinks :) The room was pleasant. The bed was comfy and clean. The bathroom was small and could do with resealing but it was fine. Breakfast was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. All in all, I liked the place. I'd have been really happy if it was £10 cheaper per night.

Very Friendly Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. I stayed here after attending a wedding and had a great night's sleep! Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again

The happiest stay I have ever hadThe manager and the crew in the hotel have provided wonderful service which is going to last long in my memory. The cleanliness of the hotel is highly appreciatable and worth for the money.

The shower did not work. If it hadn't been for that it would have rated much higher. The shower was brand new & had not been tested after installing!

A lovely country hotelIf you want modern and flash, then this isn't the place for you. Bryn Corach has an old fashioned feel with good old fashioned service. It's a lovely setting, and I really enjoyed my time here. Simon, who was on duty, was extremely helpful and friendly. My only request would be a bigger sign for the hotel, as we missed it totally on our first attempt to find it.

Very GoodThe hotel is in a great location as a base to visit Conwy. Excellent views over the town. Room was incredibly clean and lovely bed linen. We did seem to have a bedroom through which every water pipe ran so we were awaken at 7.15 by the heating/plumbing. Staff were very welcoming. Only a quick 1 night stop over but would stay again if was in the area.

Overnight stay only, self & brother.The room was excellent value for money, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Conveniently located, within a ten minute walk of the town centre. A quiet hotel with plenty of car parking available (a big plus in Conwy).

Bryn Corach Friday 8th May 2009Very friendly hotel with stunning views over Conway Castle to the front,and Snowdonia to the rear.I chose the hotel as it was an ideal base for walking.We as a couple were a little surprised to find the dining communal (all sat around large tables for 8 .i.e no tables for 2 for a romantic meal).The hotel is basically aimed at group holidays.There were groups on walking/painting holidays when we were there.Also a little surprised to find no television in the room.

A very nice place to stay in Conwy, with wonderful views and grounds, as well as really friendly staff, who couldn't have been more helpful. Seems to be more suited for the middle-aged bracket, but I suppose anyone who is looking for the above criteria could stop there. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN - what more can I say?

Generally excellant but a few little problemsStaff friendly and pleasant. Room clean, food excellant. A couple of little problems, firstly my Sat Nav took me to the wrong street. Secondly there is an inclined walk from car park a few hundred yards away, (not good at my age carrying a heavy bag). Finally I thought it was a litte unusual that there was no TV in the room

The Hotel was well situated with excellent views. Management and staff were friendly. Facilites were adequate but would have prefered a TV in room. Would stay here again if we decided to stay in same area.

DON'T DO ITIf the weather is anything above -2, I suggest a tent in a muddy field would be better than this hotel!Upon arrival I found fresh towels and the bed apparently made but the bathroom had certainly not been cleaned (upon further inspection, as I was about to get into bed later, I found the sheets crumpled in that 'previously slept in' fashion) . I asked the manager to see to the bathroom and left for work . When I arrived back much later, the bathroom had indeed been cleaned - which only showed up the appauling state of the room. By this time it was after 11 at night so I slept on the bed in my clothes (I had by now discovered the sheets) and left before breakfast the next morning so as to avoid a confrontation as I was too tired!!There were others staying at the hotel on a walking holiday however the 'laterooms' rooms seemed to be in a different part of the building that, at best is in dire need of refurb or at worst should be condemned!!

Thsi was a great place to stay. It was easy to get to from the train station, though it did require an uphill walk. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast we enjoyed had many choices and was served quickly. We chose rooms that were not en suite, but did not have to wait for a shower. The showers and bathrooms were also very tidy. Overall, I would gladly stay here again, it was a wonderful hotel and added to the overall enjoyment of our trip.

The hotel is very good and the staff is very friendly. Very good food. We didn't get a double room we booked the first day so ended up in two ensuites. The next day we were given the double with apology (but no compensation at all, we paid the full double room price). The double room was fantastic but not the single ones. So in summary everythin is fine provided you avoid single rooms!!

The hotel is in a lovely setting with great views over the estuary. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with windows overlooking the castle on one side and the Great Orme on the other. Breakfast in the conservatory dining room (again with good views) offered a good choice including veggie options. There is a choice of pleasant lounge areas and a bar in the evening.Providing you don't mind the short uphill walk from the town, and the lack of TV in the room, this place offers good value for money.

Bryn Corach seems to attract mainly middle aged walkers who take part in guided walks run by HF Holidays staff. Most of the people there seem to have been with the company before. I went with my eight year old son because the guest house had one room left - not filled by walkers. It only had a sink but the toilet/shower and bath were next door and directly opposite and there was never a queue. Expect to have to make conversation with strangers at breakfast since the large round tables seat 10! My son enjoyed the games room - table tennis etc. and you can play chess in the lounge. There is free internet access also (one computer). The large garden is well kept and great for relaxing/playing in. The car park is below another house which is in front of Bryn Corach and you have to walk 20m up a hill from it so I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone doddery. The breakfasts were good - cereal and full English etc. Lovely views of Conwy. My son loved the place and we would definitely go back.

All together the hotel was very nice and clean, the views were lovely and the staff were friendly. May I suggest that soap is put in the room, every hotel I have stayed in has supplied the toiletries otherwise highly recommended.
