Where to begin? I expected excellence and I got average (perhaps below). The first room we were given smelled of smoke, was directly next to the elevator (specificially asked not to be next to one) and the bathroom was filthy (mould in the tile, tub hadn't been cleaned in a long time). The second room was MUCH smaller than the first and the bedding was no longer the deluxe bedding we had paid for. It also had some repair jobs needed including painting over a phone number written on the wall. Room was hot at night. After taxes and valet the room cost over $200 for one night. For that price I expect at least a 4 star experience and this was nowhere close. If you're planning on staying in downtown Denver, skip the Brown and stay at the Ritz or Hotel Teatro.

Great location for walking. Room a little cramped. Very nice elegant, historic hotel with a quaint, historic setting. Very convenient to a very walkable downtown.

We had to wait 2-1/4 hours for our room; the hotel was oversold and despite having a reservation for two months, the front desk repeatedly asked us if we preferred to stay at The Comfort Inn across the street.

The only problem is I didn't have printer that worked in the room. There was no printer cable to interface with my computer, but there was a printer. Also, I love to swim to relax after a flight and there was no pool or ability to go to a spa to swim.

Classy and elegant. It was a nice escape from reality.

We stayed at the Brown Palace for a MOMS getaway weekend for a special event. I am always hesitant when I reserve a place in a big city -basically going in ""blind"" . I was greatly impressed with the hotel. Great location close to 16th street and Cherry Creek Malls.Staff was great, service was excellent. Cant go wrong staying here!!

The Brown Palace was in the Holiday Spirit, there were families coming to celebrate and all dressed in their holiday best. The room service is great and the Ship Tavern is a great place to relax, before or after the Spa.

Customer service was very good and friendly staff. The room's carpet was faded in a spot and there was mold on the shower ceiling.

The Brown Palace is an elegant luxury hotel. Its location is also one of the main reasons why we like to stay at the Brown place in Denver.

Concierge was very helpful. Parking. This is a great historic downtown hotel. It has great restaurants in the hotel and others within easy walking distance. It is centrally located in downtown Denver. The rooms are spacious and the service is excellent. I have stayed here a couple of times now and really like it.

Room was very, very small. Unbearably hot. Fire alarm blasted at 2:00 am for half an hour, then again the following night throughout an unsatisfactory dinner. Bellmen and check-in people did a first class job, but the rest of this historic hotel no longer provides the level of service it once did. As a business traveler, I need something I can depend on consistently. I'll be trying one of the other downtown Denver hotels next time.

Nice restoration. Small room; things weren't working (no TV remote, no lights that worked by bed). I've already done this on my letter that I wrote as soon as I got back (June 16). I should have gone through the hotel website because (prepaid) we were ignored and treated like 2nd class citizens. It took 9.5 hours to get someone to fix the lights in the room and we had to go to the desk to get the TV controls.

"The original hotel for the convention was booked for the evening of 11/04. If I had known about the Brown Palace prior to making reservations from the 5th to the 9th, I would have stayed at the Brown Palace the entire time. I loved it."

"Beautiful hotel, first class service and wonderful staff. From Churchill's bar and the cocktails, to the Ship's Tavern and its excellent food. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended."
