Near the bund. Older buildings around. It is a good value and good for tourists, may not be good for this location for business travelers.

It ranks as a 5 star but I would only give it a 4 star. A non smoking room means they just remove the ashtrays from the room. They were eager to help when things went wrong but in 2 separate rooms the 1st one the tv was broken so they upgraded our room, in the second room the internet cable was broken for most of our stay. In my books a 5 star hotel should mean free internet, they really charge a lot per day for the internet.

Location, location, location. Best value in Shanghaii to be next to the Bund.

Good location with reasonable price. The registration process. I registered 2 rooms (516 & 712)under my name, only 516 was put under my name on the hotel computer records. The other room 712 was still under the name of the previous visitor. When my parents (arrived Shanghai on a different flight) tried to contact me at the front desk at 5pm, they cannot locate me at 516 because I was not physical in that room. It was not until 7pm that I came down to the hotel lobby tried to find out if my parents had arrived. Since there was only 516 under my name, my parents were trying to open & pay for another room for them. The mistake was not corrected until the next morning when I tried to exchange some money, the cashier asked my room number, I gave her 712 which is still under the previous visitor's name. But overall, the entire stay was satisfactory.

It is the first time I stayed in Broadway Mansions hotel. I heard that it has just been decorated. The lobby is well designed, though it is a little bit small. The staff are very friendly. I stayed in a river view room, the view sight is so beautiful in the evening. But the traffic there is a bit difficult.

I travel to China often and have stayed here a number of times. It's a reasonably good hotel which is dificult to fault except they seem to have become extremely expensive for extras such as food and bar items if they are not included in the initial room rate. eg: 3 beers and a coke cost nearly AU$60 which is a bit rich and will certainly make me rethink accomodation for my next visit to Shanghai.

Location is great. Very expensive internet connection. $15 for 24 hours. Poor service, expensive internet, room with a view on a noisy road, nice 1930 room, broadband internet available.

a/c is turned off at night ! english knowledge of staff is absolutely insufficient !

The room was a five star room with spacious bathroom and large beds and with a fine view though noise from outside work as Shanghai is building a subway (wait to go to Shanghai to this is finished, we advise you). This was value for money.

The decor and amenities of the rooms were nice. Poor room service, only 1 ironing board for entire hotel, few English speakers. Decent location near the Huangpu with good views, but far enough away from the hustle of E. Nanjing Road. Staff is friendly, but most have extremely limited English skills which can make things difficult at times. Halls are somewhat worn and trafficked, but the rooms are beautiful and large and well-stocked with amenities. Room service is often of poor quality. Overall, though, a good choice for a first stay in Shanghai.

Good location. Bathrooms are very old; need updating. Nice hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and courteous. Good location. However, the bathrooms are very outdated.

Wonderful, huge room; nice amenities; fantastic location. Public areas not as nice as the room. Eating possibilities substandard.
