the room was dated and not very clean, noisy at night, mixed with an uncomfortable bed made for three restless nights sleep.staff ranged from helpful to rude! but on the positive side sheets and towels clean and breakfast was good. i would not recommend this hotel if you were thinking of staying more than one night.

A bit dated but just ok for a night out on the town We paid 65 for one Friday night and breakfast in a double room. We arrived an hour earlier than we has stated and the receptionist was a bit short about that but we got checked in early without too much fuss. The room was on the inner circle - ie no view. The room was very dated, kind of like a poor granny's spare room. Bathroom as bedroom but clean enough. The wireless internet was down for the entire duration of our stay. For an extra 20 quid we could have stayed in a clean modern chain which with hindsight I would. Breakfast was good.On the plus side the hotel is within walking distance of the train station, sea front, town centre and local bars and clubs.

I Recommend this hotelThis was the second occasion that my wife and I have stayed at "The Roundhouse"in Bournemouth. We found the hotel clean and comfortable and the staff very helpfull. The hotel is in an excellent position being near to the railway station for those not driving. It has ample free car parking for guests with cars.It is just out of the hustle and bustle of the town centre, yet just a short stroll to the pier and shops. It also has excellent puplic transport links right outside. We shall be returning again very soon.

Could do betterGreat value at £29 for a central location...butThe window sill was visibly peeling paint, the bed was creaky, single glazed windows = noisy nighttime.Good breakfast, lots of open space around, free car parking as well. The receptionist could have been friendly rather than curt.

RevampWe found that the rooms needed updating, the deco was very dated and the paintwork and wallpaper peeling off, the bed linen i.e blanket and throwover was stained although the bedsheets were perfect. The room was overall clean and well valited by the cleaners. The overall impression when entering the hotel was good as the downstairs area was fairly updated but the room let it down.

lacklustreI only stayed there one night. The room is in fair condition. Old but ok. The hotel's officers are fairly good. However, I think that it should be better than this if comparing to price.

When i read the reviews i was a bit weary of going to stay here with all the negative reviews, but upon arrival we were greeted by a very polite young lady who explained to us all the details of our stay. The room had been redecorated and new mattresses and the shower was the best i have had in a hotel with plenty of hot water. The staff were very frendly and helpfull, as for the food it was plentifull and well prepared with a good selection every night and breakfast was too much to choose from so we had a bit of everything. Steak and chips, fish and chips with a pint of beer £12-50p what more could you need for a quick snack. Very close to all the attractions and the town centre. Yes the hotel needed updating a bit but all in all i had a nice stay there

Stag nightBooked three twins.Rooms were clean and tidy, all towels and toiletries provided.Excellent secure parking.Breakfast service was great and checkout was 12.00pm so was able to relax in the morning after heavy night. Will stay here again.Only issue was getting lost in hotel, the design is quite strange.

Satisfactory - but very glad we didn't pay full price! The staff, with the exception of a couple, seemed very apathetic and lethargic, but did their jobs. The room had no temperature control, and was stiflingly hot! The superior room also looked out onto the very noisy main road, but had only single glazing - so the noise of the traffic and seagulls was quite intrusive. Facilities were basic but clean, bed was comfy, and room service didn't charge. The 'restaurant' was more of a cafe, but fairly cheap - and food was good.Breakfast is supposedly served between 7.30 and 9.30 - but arriving at 9.00 we found no clean tables, no tea/coffee/juice left and a small selection of food on offer. The hot food was ok, but quite greasy. On the plus side, we could leave the car in the car park all day, even after checking out at 10am - big bonus as parking near the beach is difficult and expensive. All in all - satisfactory, and at £35 B&B, was a fair price - but we were glad we didn't pay more!

Reception staff claimed we were not booked into this hotel. They sent us to another hotel along the road who said we were booked into the Roundhouse after all. On arrival back at the first hotel we where not given any apology until my wife asked for one. After that things got better, the room was satisfactory and the food was excellent...very good value.

Could not believe it!This hotel would have been perfect if I was paying £40-a-night. From its unusual exterior architecture and satisfactory reception area, one would expect a lot more from the Britannia Roundhouse Hotel. When my wife and I entered the room for the first time we were somewhat deflated when faced with a room that hardly managed to squeeze in a double bed, desk and small wardrobe. After travelling 145miles and arriving at approx. 21:45 we decided to give the room a chance and see how we felt in the morning... This was before my encounter with the shower!!! Without harping on about the scruffy carpet, leaking shower head and bath, OLD rickety mattress, single glazed draughty window, old fashioned decor and old worn matching curtains and bed cover... The best thing about my stay there was breakfast!!! This was supposed to be an exciting surprise for my wife on our 1st Wedding Anniversary. We both really did get a surprise! I am sorely dissatisfied and will be writing to Brittania Hotels. :-(

Good for the priceGot what we paid for. Our window was broken but did it really matter. There was sand on bed spread, but sheets were clean-so just took it off. Mattress didn't actuall fit the bed base, but again-did it matter. Room was very, very hot, on leaving window open we came back to swarm of flies- I asked at reception for some fly killer which was sent up very quick. Some staff were lets say not overly friendly, but never rude.-just distant/vague. Food was really good a fantastic choice for breakfast-Buffet style. Happy hour at bar 12til 7pm. Located by restuarants, shops and beach. Jacuzzi wasn't as good as hoped for.

The room felt very tired and well used. The bathroom had a very damp smell to it which made it unpleasant to use. The smoke detector in the room had been covered over, which to me demonstrates the room had not been fully checked. We went from here to a Travel Lodge and found that a cleaner and better experience for less money.

Fawlty Towers ?!?Unable to access room on arrival due to a system failure.Receptionist was a having a breakdown - continuously crying - no management in sight.Charged £636 for a room and didn`t realise the mistake - yes, we have the receipts to prove it!!

On arriving, we entered the barrier for carpark and having travelled to the top, we found no spaces and nowhere to turn around. This was mainly because of some cars deciding to take up 2 spaces. We had to reverse back down but couldnt get out of carpark! I had to go to reception and get a pass to get out agin and was told to park around the back which was also full. Breakfast was an experiance. I left my plate on table 1/2 full, Toast on side plate, juice in glass, partner reading paper while i went to get a cup of tea. My plate was whisked away so i had to queue for another breakfast!!

Hotel was great for the money!I was worried about this hotel after reading what some guests had written on the site, but I have to say there was nothing wrong with the place! It was clean, tidy and the reception was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and a lot was on offer, we would definitly stay here again!
