Very central hotel, free bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. Had booked a single room but they had run out so was upgraded to an executive double - still pretty small though and very thin duvet - but they were happy to give me a second. They let me keep my bicycle in the room which surprised me - good for keeping the bike secure but probably added to the many scuff marks already on the walls!

Dirty HotelI have never stayed in such a dirty Hotel, we had reason to complain at the terrible state of our room and were upgraded to there supeior room which was even worse than the original room, the lifts, carpets along the hall ways were so dirty, I have stayed in better hotels in blackpool and that is saying something, what an embarresment for this country, we checked out straight away and got our money back, we stayed at the "Park Inn" what a delight that was for only £15 more including breakfast and parking, Do not stay at the Britania!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I just booked the hotel through late rooms as it was pretty cheap. We were really pleased with our room. The breakfast was pretty basic, but we had only paid £5 each, so very reasonable. All in all, the hotel was great value for the city centre and very nice. No parking however.

Central HotelWe stayed at this hotel fo one night. We were looking for a cenral base to explore some parts of the city. It is certainly good for that. We were a short walk to the castle and to the square. This however seemed to attract the single sex groups and we were awoken at 2am with these returning from the pubs and clubs. However the hotel is fine and well priced, but is not as good as the pictures make it out to be. I found one reception member to be not so friendly, but another very friendly and able to help with directions etc..The breakfast was of good quaitly. Just make sure you use the correct NCP car park for the discount, we didn't and had to pay full price for our stay.

Britannia Hotel NottinghamThe hotel was well located for access to the city. It is close to a main road and so can be a little noisy. The room was well appointed but a little small. The room contained a fridge which wasn't mentioned in the advertisement. The bed was exceptionally soft which would not suite those with back trouble! We arrived at the same time as a coach load of delegates to a concrete conference (!?) and the reception staff seemed overwhelmed. It took around 45 minutes to check in. There is no on-site parking, so the only option is a multi-storey car-park opposite the hotel. Very expensive, even with the hotels discount! The staff were helpful when we needed them. The breakfast selection was superb and very good quality. The only negative point was a fire alarm at mid-night. It proved to be a false alarm, but the staff were non-existant with just a single person to hand who only ventured it was a false alarm when pressed. No one seemed to be taking charge.

Great locationThis hotel is right in the city centre, close to tram, bus, and 10 mins from main train station. Great base for exploring the bars and clubs.

OK BUT DON'T PAY FULL PRICENot as bad as some other reviews suggest. Although not recommended for a romantic break. Excellent location and reasonable rooms. Just needs a lot of tidying up and updating, but if you can get a cheap deal its well worth it.

Dirty kettleThe customer service on reception left a little to be desired. The man who booked us in did not even work on reception and didnt seem to know what he was doing. When we got into our room the kettle was disgusting, black mould etc floating about. We must have rung down to reception 4 times, my husband even went down to reception with the kettle. We were told they were fully booked so could not replace it, they did not offer to clean it!I think the hotel could do with some modernisation, the curtains in our room, god knows how they were staying up, there was a large crack in the television etc.

Great choice for a city stayWe came to Nottingham to see Neil Young, and I can't think of a better place we could have stayed for the money. The room was clean, service at reception exemplary, I'd have been happy to stay for a week. Only the lack of parking would possibly be a problem although street parking at night is fairly good overnight (till 8am, then you pay, but it's a city centre after all)

Nothing like the photo'sThe hotel looking nothing like the website, I had to queue for over 25min to get my room key from reception only one member of staff on (poor girl). The hotel is very dated looking inside 1980's but clean. Rooms also dated no AC in room, TV was really bad very poor reception. For the money I paid for room it was expensive, a standard travel lodge room was better and bigger.
