This is hands down my favourite guest house now - I stay at lots for work, but Jan and her husband were both so friendly, the food was amazing (home cooked bread each morning!) and the room was really gorgeous - clean elegant modern lines, but with lots of lovely local details and gorgeous art and craft pieces. Not only do I want their house, but I have a huge amount of respect for their support of local business and ecologically aware practices. A huge 10/10...

Highly RecommendHad a fantastic stay, only booked 1 night but stayed for 2..! 5 min walk from centre of newquay and beaches.. would return in future without doubt.. 10/10..!!

Good location and great service but poor roomBooked this room (Cribber) based on the pictures on the website that looked farily modern, however the on suite is basically part of the same room with a half door between the bed and the toilet! Bed wasn't made or room cleaned throughout 3 night stay and the general feeling is that you're staying in a student room.Location is good being about a 3 minute walk from town and 10 minutes from the station but is quiet too. The lady who runs the place is lovelly and able to recommend places and there is a very good environmental policy.

Great service. Great ethos. Great place. It's the details that make this place so great: from the friendly, personal service to the free, communal DVD collection and the locally produced breakfast ingredients. Beats any budget hotel experience.

Nice BreaksOverall a very nice small hotel, room did have a couple of small issues and these have been mentioned in earlier reviews, one being the thin blinds letting in street light to the room but this did not detract from the stay at all and the other being the bathroom door being a bead hanging - this again wasn't an issue to me but should probably be changed for a bi fold door or something more substantial. Breakfast was very nice with good local produce. I would stay again

Valentines weekend away in NewquayBreaks is a great guest house with friendly owners who really make u feel at home. Our room was great, the breakfast was great and the location was great. Made our little valentines getaway just that little more special.

Fantastic people, very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were 100% cooked anyway you required! Room was well presented and spacious. (Mundaka room)Location brilliant- 5 minute walk from beach.

Jan and Andy were out when we arrived and initially were not contactable on the mobile no shown on the door. However they returned our call within 5 mins and were back within 10. They made us very welcome. The chocolate with the towels was very nice. Very much for younger people, but although we were the eldest guests (neither of us will see 50 again (in my case 55)) we got on very well with the other guests. Very eco friendly. One slight quibble (that has been mentioned in previous reviews ) was that the bin had not been emptied. Generally a friendly welcoming establishment offering good value basic accomodation.

The room was of fair size with as I quote from their website an 'individually designed cabin style wet room'. In my opinion this looked like a few pieces of old wood which had been thrown together. There were hairs around the shower and in the sink. To add to this the carpets in the room were badly stained. There was a rather unpleasant smell in the room (a mixture of damp as the extractor fan in the bathroom was not much use and stale food). Even though we were staying on a bed and breakfast rate we refused to eat at the guest house as on checking in I noticed that there was a dog!The photographs on the website are very deceiving. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I certainly won't be staying here again.

Delightful hostess and lovely breakfast. However, there was no off street parking, and our bed was not made or the room serviced during our stay. The room called Elands is not really big enough to be a double, and a bead curtain is not acceptable between the room and the en suite.

Perfect location, great food, and the owners, Jan and Andy are great, My wife took ill while we were staying, and they were so accomadating and nothing was too much trouble. Will be going back soon.

The room looked great but a few things were not designed that well, having only a beaded curtain between the bedroom and the toilet was not the best idea, the bed looked amazing but the mattress wasn't that comfortable, and the kettle had to be put on the floor to plug it in to boil. Just a bit more care cleaning the rooms is needed ie magazine under the bed still from previous guests, water and paper in the mugs when we went to use them and the bin wasn't emptied even though we had food packaging in it. But the proprietors were so helpful and welcoming, the food was amazing and the ambience of the place was really cool so we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent place overall, but just couple of minor grumbles... Curtains in room virtually non existant meant room very, very bright first thing in morning which meant sleep difficult. Also TV in room made loud ringing noise. As I say, only minor really and overall was very good!
