First night was awful, old unit, drape falling down and stained, but I thought 'oh well I can put up with it. Until that night, we had to take the mattresses into the lounge to get some sleep, as we were next to a lift and could hear it going up and down all night. I even spent 1/2hr around midnight in the reception area watching to see if people were using the lift and no one came, so it must go up and down on its own accord. On complaining, the older lady at reception was quite rude, snapping that there was no noise from the lift, but would move us anyway. Thank god, we went up a few stories to a flash as room, and it was so very very quiet. So the first unit we had I would rate bad, no 1, and the 2nd unit good, no 5. So if you stay here, then good luck I hope you get a nice unit.

Position perfect for central gold coast/beach and for our needs. The hotel is looking and feeling very tired, the lift/foyer area leaves a lot to be desired. Room cleanliness can be between bad to average - the last time we stayed (May 08) was the cleanest one we have had to date. Getting rid of 'schoolies' would go half way to tiding the place up. If paying full price there is no way we would stay at this hotel, which is unfortunate considering location location - I am sure I am not alone here.

Staff very friendly ,location excellent,I asked for an ocean view room and received,thank you. Pity the heated pool was out of action but that did not worry us too much,will definitely stay again ,have stayed twice before this trip. have also stayed at other resortsmotels but will always come back to Beachcomber. Loved the idea of Gourmet Room Service menus from outside brilliant idea. Minor problem with fridge not working to capacity(not cold enough)
