Description:
Built in the Victorian era by one the area's most famous families, the Swallow Bower Hotel is well located for exploring the region's towns and countryside. Over the years the hotel's original character has been sympathetically maintained and enhanced to cater for guests with both leisure and business needs. Our 90 comfortable bedrooms include 28 club bedrooms which are larger than you'd expect in a three star hotel, with many of the rooms overlooking the secret garden to the rear of the hotel.Dining at the hotel is available in Sheridan's, our popular restaurant open to both hotel guests and local residents. Both original and innovative dishes complement an extensive wine list and also a great variety of traditional choices. The hotel enjoys excellent facilities that can successfully cater for both intimate dining for couples, through to much larger corporate events. Our friendly and professional staff is available to help with all your specific requirements, ensuring your stay at the hotel is a memorable one.

relaxingAfter a tough day in Manchester this was a relaxed hotel to spend the night before a long drive home.

On arrival hotel looked nice, and only bout 15mins from Manchester. As lots of partys going on in hotel residents were treated as secound class. Meal on the evening was located in back of building in a freezing cold room. Hence i went to Beefeater just located down the road.Bedroom was very cold.Eventually i was given an exra heater. On leaving checked underbed for missing sock only to find sweets, a looipop stick and more rubbish.yuk! Would not recomend this hotel.

good value (offer) for money Room was very small but good enough for a single person. The bath tab could do witha renovation or replacing. An iron, kettle + teas in the room - blessing ! Well done for 35 GBP per night!Food quality - I am sure this is a matter of preferences. I am not an English breakfast (fried) lover. Must be noted that semi-continental breakfast was also provided! So a little somethign for everyone was there! Otherwise, I have not tried anything else so cannot tell.

Very pleasant stay. Although very close to the motorway, it wasn't noisy but consequently easy to find and conveniently placed for going into Manchester. Breakfast was one of the best I've tasted for a long time: very fresh with eggs cooked to order and linen on the table!

Excellent breakfast - was very happy to find it was a full English as I thought it was going to be continental! It was comfortable and quiet in the room, despite being busy in the reception on the Saturday night. Only thing was that the room was quite cold, but a very minor point in a very good stay.

Great location. Good staff. Could really really do with a refurb and a clean. Rooms not too clean, bedding etc good. More general clean really. Choice of beers and drinks a bit poor. Also after peak hours food choice limited

Never at full price.Checked in with other guests - some sent to rooms already occupied ! Service and staff very good but oh does it need tidying up . A lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. Bedlinen very clean and comfotable bed ; bathroom good but some rooms do not have handrail alongside bath , the bath is set into the wall which means there's no support . Fascilities good , good bar but short on any real ales. Bar food very good but once you've been through the menu its the same again. Good value but only if you book on line .

We found this to be a good quality hotel with nice rooms and friendly staff . It is in a good location and has free car parking. The bar is ideal for having a relaxing drink and the food in the restaurant was excellent and good value for money. There was a wedding on the Saturday and we were concerned that there would be a lot of noise during the night, but there was none at all and we have a lovely stay.
