Description:
NOW all guest rooms are NON SMOKING!! Located in the Heart of the French Quarter, the Bourbon Orleans features classic Southern Charm with styling reminiscent of the French Opulence of the early 1800's. With its central location - directly behind the famed St. Louis Cathedral, the hotel offers direct access to the upscale shopping on Royal Street, the fortune tellers and street performers of Jackson Square, cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde, and of course the decadence of Bourbon Street. As a Historic Hotel, each unique guestroom has its own charm and grace. However, all of the rooms feature modern amenities including in room safes and complementary local calls. The hottest addition to the dynamic nightlife of the French Quarter, Napoleon's Itch is quickly becoming the ultimate "after hours" lounge to see and be seen. The bar, across from the famed Oz nightclub, offers the swank feel of a New York club. Napoleon's Itch operates from 5:00 pm - 4:00 am Wednesday through Sunday. There is a security fee of $10.00 per person per day from 1/25-2/5/08 for Mardi Gras dates this will be charged to guest room and paid by guest on checkout. The Hotel charges for Special event, compulsory gala dinner, additional transfer costs, etc. There are smoking areas by the pool and on Bourbon Street for people to smoke.

The room was very small, and the bathroom had black stains all over the ceiling. The carpet in the hotel needs to be replaced. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to all major attractions. The shower-head in the bathroom was great, along with the water pressure. I would not stay at Bourbon Orleans again.

The hotel was great. We paid $28 for a fantastic room. Really loved the room. We walked everywhere we wanted to go because we were so close to all of the action. The balcony was a great place to relax after a long day.

Right in the middle of the quarter. Close to everything you want to see in the French Quarter and everywhere you want to visit. Professional staff. Beautiful rooms- although they were a little small. Wonderful pool. Hint - skip breakfast at the hotel and walk a block or two west (depending which exit you use) to the Clover Grill for excellent food served 24 hours a day.

Staff was friendly and room was ready earlier than promised. Room and hotel temp was always cool. Room was quiet and very little outside noise. I would stay in this hotel again and reccommend to friends. The back of hotel faces Bourbon Street and Jackson Square is only one block away. Art galleries, shops and restaurants are all nearby.

We went for the music and dancing and enjoyed both. The location was excellent for us. There was considerable disturbance in the hall around 3-4:00 A.M. This trip was so short that it can't be compared to our usual week long visit.

High water pressure in shower. Street noise & valet parking charge. Hotel was supposed to be a 3.5 star. It was OK, but nothing special. They charge you $30/night to park your car & there's not a self park option convenient.

This was our second stay at the Bourbon Orleans and we would stay again! The rooms are clean and a good size. On this stay we had a room on the 6th floor and it was very quiet. It's nice to be able to spend the day/evening in the heart of Bourbon Street, but come back to your room and have peace and quiet for a good night's sleep. This hotel has the PERFECT location if you want to explore the French Quarter and water front.

We really enjoyed our trip to New Orleans and this hotel was very nice. Service was quick and pleasant. Location is great, within walking distance to everything. Pool is nice, small, but we just used it to cool off. We didn?t eat there, to many other choices but did see a few dinning on site so it must be good. One thing to note, it can be a bit loud. We had an inside room, over looking the pool so it wasn't to bad, but there were a few mornings that Bourbon St. music may wake you.

The hotel is beautiful located in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a bit small and the decor in the rooms could be updated a little.

This hotel was in a great location, the service was good, the hotel was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was a great place to stay. I would recommend it to any one traveling to new Orleans, loved it.

My husband and I were very pleased with the hotel. The room was small, but tastefully decorated. The lobby's chandeliers are gorgeous, and the furniture very nice and welcoming. The hotel dining room is understaffed. The food servers did their best, but could not keep up with the volume. The view from our room #353 faced a stone wall. Also, with only one elevator we were forced to take the employee stairs for the convenience of reaching our room more quickly. We would stay there again.

Ask fior a quiet room because some of the rooms share a wall with a club or bar located on the first floor. We stayed in #253, small queen size room but fine for our visit. We asked for two extra pillows and they were delivered quickly. There is no view from this side of the hotel and it is a long walk unless you use the employee elevator which takes you right down to the lobby with out the long walk around to the guest elevator. The rooms are in need of some cosmetic updating, tub drain is cloged and does not drain well. Bathroom sink has a chip in it and the wall paper is starting to peel away from the bathroom wall. Bed could have been firmer and the TV was a bit small. MAJOR PLUS = Location, Pool, Fitness Center, Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel was truly situated at the best location. One block from Bourbon Street on Orleans Ave., a nice side street, one block from Jackson Square and two blocks from the Cafe Du Monde and those fabulous beignets and cafe au lait. We were on the top floor in a dormered room overlooking Bourbon Street. It was a bit noisy at night but not unbearable. The room was charming and nicely appointed although the carpet was badly stained and the wall paper was coming off the wall in the bathroom in one spot. The room wasn't perfect but the lobby was grand and pool area small but beautiful. I would definitely stay here again given its location and elegant feel. I would request a room off Bourbon Street and on a lower floor.

Swimming pool looked nice, room was very comfortable, valet attendants and bathroom was huge. The room was very comfy and the bathroom was huge and beautiful. We didn't get in the pool, but it looked very inviting. The staff were not very friendly at first, but they seemed very accommodating upon our checkout.

Room was fine and all the people were friendly and helpful with the few questions/requests we had. We had a good sized group in town for a wedding and seemed everyone was happy. The hotel room was quiet and clean, we had an inner room facing the courtyard/pool but spent most of our time out. Great location. Close to Jackson Square and waterfront. If you just need a good place for base of operations to run around the Quarter and online has a deal on flight/hotel combo for this place, do it.

The staff was completely incapable of answering the most general questions, the service by the front desk staff was horrible, the room was tiny, dark and dirty. It was probably the worst hotel stay I have ever had. There was a man passed out on the sofa in the front entry at 11 pm at night. Noone on the staff seemed bothered by him being there. At 8:30 am the staff started knocking on the door either at the wrong door for room service or cleaning. I did not sleep one minute all night. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. I based my decision on reviews on this site, therefore I felt obligated to send my honest review in.

if you're in need of a well-located, air-conditioned place to sleep with a pool in new orleans this hotel is great. anything beyond that and it would be hard to recommend the bourbon orleans. that said, the criteria listed above was all i was looking for (traveling alone, and barely at my hotel) and so the bouron orleans was perfect for me.

Location, quiet. Tired, cracked tile, missing art and phone in bath but hooks still there. Tired but not too bad for a place 1/2 block off Bourbon.

This was the best place I've stayed! The woman and I go to New Orleans every year and the location of this Hotel could not have been better, directly across the street from Tropical Isle and only blocks from just about everything else. We had the single queen bed room which is small but we don't spend much time in the room so we where fine with it, it was clean and overlooked the courtyard/pool (which is heated). Some friends of mine spent the extra $ a night for the double queen bed room and it was a very good size room and had a balcony. Overall the experience was a 10 out of 10.

Room, bed, and bath were acceptable. The pool was a nasty shade of green. Security is a bit lax, I was able to walk right in the front door, and proceed to the elevators without so much as a challenge by any of the staff, at all hours. They were working quite a bit on the hotel, both inside and out during my stay, so the new owner(s) are trying to get this hotel back to a state of grace. The restuarant service was sub-par and the food was just plain BAD. There are some great eateries within close proximity to this hotel. It truly is the best location for easy access to all the good stuff in the quarter.
