The Buckminster Hotel is a no frills budget hotel. Rates are the best in Boston and it includes a decent continental breakfast. Rooms are a bit old, but comfortable. Staff is young and very friendly. Best deal in the city in my opinion.

Location, clean, neat and friendly. Fantastic place, clean, neat, great location, comfortable, wonderful and parking was close. Staff was friendly and so close to Fenway.

After reading some of the reviews on this and other sites, I was bracing myself for a long uncomfortable night. However, I was very pleased with the Hotel Buckminster and can only offer a few minor quibbles. There was a bit of construction/painting going on outside and inside the hotel, but nothing too inconvenient. There is also a very slight musty odor throughout the building, but again nothing too severe. And strangely, lots of things in my room were unplugged (clock radio, lamp and microwave). I didn't use the parking garage or eat the continental breakfast, so I can't comment on those. But the incredible location, just a short walk from a subway stop and right across the street from Fenway Park served my needs perfectly.

There for the MIT graduation. 1 block from the Kenmore T-stop and then zip across the Charles to campus. We also were able to just walk over the bridge to MIT. Right next to Fenway park and activities. Quick continental breakfast, ironing boards and computer center. We liked the old (refurbished) feel of the hotel.

Okay, the hotel was built in the late 1800s and is old. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is located right in Kenmore Square, convenient to everything and you just can't beat the price!

If you are a hotel snob this is not the hotel for you. Its pretty basic with a friendly staff. The biggest down side is you have NO control over the temp in your room. Our room was so hot we were sweating. We finally got the window to open and then the room became bareable. If you are a ball fan, or need to go to BU this is a close hotel. The location was great for fenway and the college and surround by decent bars. The rooms are wicked small. and the shower didnt drain. We were in town to see a concert so the hotel worked, I will stay there again just make sure i got a room with a window that opens and faces fenway.

This hotel had the best of both worlds. It had a great location and a fabulous price. We were going to Boston for the first time but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for a hotel. We found it in this fabulous hotel. We read plenty of reviews but the review that convinced us was the one on About.com. If you are in the area it's a great deal.

One block from Fen way Park. No air conditioning. Hotel was okay. I was not told of $26 per night parking fees or Boston city tax of 12.5% by hotel. This added an additional $80 to my bill, and I am extremely aggravated by the oversight.

The hotel looks nothing like the advertistment. The front lobby is not inviting. I felt a sense of uncomfort just standing in the lobby. The elevator is old and shabby. The halls are constructed like a maze. If the light goes out in the hall, you will have to feel your way to an exit, if you do not run into a dead end. The rooms are ancient looking. I love antique furniture, but this hotel has horrible furniture. The stove in the suites are from the 70s. The bathrooms look like cheap labor. The bath tub has rust in the tub and by the drain. The rooms are creepy and scary. I was in shock. I checked out the same night. It is a shame that a hotel with great history is going down in the dumps. The hotel needs to be sold to an owner that appreciate their guest and the property.

We reserved a 2 room suite, room enough for 4 adults. We got a call the night before saying they would have to change us to a room with one queen bed but they would give us enough roll away beds to make up for it. oh and they were going to do us a favor and only charge us for the price of the lower cost room!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!

The location was great. Our first room was unmade and the second had a full trash can. For the location we were pleased, although we did encounter some problems with the room. When we entered our room it was clear that the maid had never entered it after the last guests left. We went back to the front desk where the agent was very embarrassed and quickly give us another room. When we entered the second room after a few minutes we realized that there was a full waste basket place on top the TV stand/bureau. When I pulled it down I saw that it was full of dirty diapers and trash so I quickly placed it outside the room. We were on our way out for the evening so we just mentioned it on our way out the door since we didn't want to switch rooms again. The hotel served its purposed. A safe and convenient place to lay our heads.

The architecture was charming. One computer in the business center did not work. It's got a lot of charm and the staff was helpful and friendly. It was quiet for sleeping. I was worried about walking back in the dark, but it's in the Boston University neighborhood and there was plenty of traffic and nice clubs and restaurants along the route.
