Quite. No pool or spa or fitness. Hotel was great and met our expectations.

I’ve always had excellent service but this time it was beyond brilliant so maybe Boscolo has read the negative reviews and they’re bending over backwards. This is a sumptuous 17th century palace with an intimate feel and a long garden of century-old trees, gravel paths, rose pergolas and a covered jetty to watch sunset over the lagoon. The staff are efficient, attentive and kind. The hotel is not next to St Marks’s but neither is it a backwater. You’re 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. Or jump on the free hotel launch. The area is quiet and picturesque, with the feel of a fishing village Arrival is simple: Orange line to Orto and you’re 4 mins walk from the hotel. But it’s fiddly, so download a map first. I’ve always had a perfect room. But if you book for autumn/spring and they’re full and it would kill you not to have a huge room, go elsewhere. Though in my experience you’ll have that problem everywhere. This is paradise. And if beauty isn’t your thing, why go to Venice?

enjoyed the stay. rooms ok and it is a boscola hotel which is usually a good thing.good ambience and you do need to do a lot of walking to many attractions. it is on the west side of the island group.we were with a tourist group.

Nice gardens. Customer service was lousy. No room keys for 2 days. Needed to be let into the room by the staff for 2 days. Very inconvenient. Location was away from St. Marks Square. Provided a boat shuttle but was broken twice. Asked for extra towels at 10 am. Was told that this was not possible at this time. Went to the towel storage room and got my own. Asked to speak to the manager and was told manager was not available for 1/2 hour. Never showed up. Was told by front desk that problem do happen and that should be expected.

This remarkable hotel, formerly the Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, is off a quiet canal near Madonna Del Orto. It has a wonderfully large and beautiful lobby with attentive staff. The outdoor restaurant and garden are very romantic and unlike anything else in Venice. One might think of its location as being a disadvantage, so far from San Marco, but there is a private launch to shuttle guests to and from San Marco 6 times daily. One has the peace and serenity of a lovely 5-5tar hotel without the summer crowds.

There was nothing about the hotel that I liked except for the boat shuttle. The small smelly room, the uncooperative staff was a shame to have this hotel rated as 5 star. I had difficulty communicating with the staff, they were unfriendly and unprofessional. I think they only had 3 staff on duty at all time. The hotel is old and smelly. It is located way off the strip and behind a dumpster! It was not worth the money we paid for! And it is definitely not a 5 star hotel. We stayed at a 4 star hotel in Rome and London and it was so much better than this one. My friends and I are very disappointed that this hotel did not turned out to be what we though a 5 star hotel should be.

The location, the friendly and helpful staff & boat. It had very nice decor and we were provided with slippers and a robe and all the extras. We stayed to eat in the hotel because we came in late, and we did not want to leave the hotel, and we spent close to $100 for a modest meal. We really enjoyed the hotel, location, the friendly staff, and the beautiful boat that took us to St.marks square and burans. We really enjoyed the stroll from the hotel and taking pictures on the bridges. This really reflected the true view of Venice. We have wonderful memories of Venice and would recommend the hotel very much. We stayed at the hotel before and after a cruise to Greece, and the staff was extremely helpful and professional.

Not much. Very unfriendly staff makes feel like they were bothered. Nice size rooms, not good attention to detail, location hard to find, restaurant way to expensive for what it is, bathroom shower leaked all the time.

Nice and clean. They charged for breakfast and for Internet and the rooms were smaller than hotels in Italy, and far from central Venice. The hotel is beautiful, however we stayed in hotels just as nice for a fraction of the price. It is located on the opposite side of Venice from most of the shops, sights and restaurants. They also charge 22 Euro or person for breakfast and 10 neuron to use the Internet when this was included everywhere else we stayed in Italy.

Very clean and comfortable. staff was very nice and helpful. hotel was beautiful. garden is very romantic. Not located close to st. mark's. hotel shuttle was only a few time a day. last shuttle back to hotel was 7;30pm, too early. breakfast was too $$$$$$ Hotel was very clean and beautiful. Bathroom is luxurious, overall beautiful and comfortable. location was not good, far from St. Mark's and shuttle provided by hotel was not frequent enough hence very inconvient. Food was okay but very expensive. Breakfast 36 Euros+10service charge. Very expensive food but the quality is not all that great. not worth eating here.

Good concierge. Room had no windows and was very small. For a 5-star hotel, the room was too small and I was put at the back of the hotel, crossing through a narrow corridor/doors. No window in the room.
