This is a small hotel in a quiet street. Breakfast is a simple but pleasant continental buffet. From the large bay window in the restaurant room, you can sit and watch the thousands of bicycling commuters dashing through Vondelpark, which the hotel overlooks to the rear. It's so satisfying to watch people dash to work, while you're planning your day of leisure over a strong coffee.Facilities are fairly basic. For example, there are no tea and coffee making facilities, and no food available other than at breakfast time. My elderly father was contemplating retiring early to the hotel while others in our party stayed out into the evening. However with these limitations, and no nearby shops, it wasn't practical. The nearest tram stop, for Tram 2, is less than five minutes walk to the south. One block further to the south, you can catch Tram 16. It takes around 10 minutes to get to Dam, or 15 minutes to get to Central Station.

I went for this hotel as it had 4 previous people leave a good review. I have no idea if they stayed in the same hotel as me. It did happen to have parking outside which was handy, but it was just the street with a spare spot. Please note this is not really a hotel! Its reception will close at 10pm and open again at 8, so no room service and I don't know what happens if a problem with the room occurs in the night. The hotel suffers from the classic European problem of offering everything as 3*, this was 1* at best, very 70's with a budget feel throughout. It was NOT worth the 100+ EUR. It might do for a cheap place to stay with some mates but not for a couple. I reserved a DOUBLE and got 2 singles pushed together, which is just not the same and should come with a large discount IMO. The service was nice, but probably because they knew that if they were awful I would have refused to pay for the hotel. There must be countless better places to stay in Amsterdam to be honest. We did have a balcony sort of with a view of the park so maybe a bit better in the Summer (although ours had cig butts and beer bottles on it when we got there)

Great location on the outskirts of zone 1, views onto Vondelpark. Very friendly and personal service, took time out to tell us about Amsterdam, places to visit, how to get around, etc. Can't fault it!

This hotel is situated in a very pleasant area, right next to a large park. The museum district is within walking distance and the centre is 10-15 minutes away by tram. The tram stop is only a couple of minutes away. There are some nice restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean and friendly and staff were helpful.

The hotel was next to Vondel Park in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed on the top floor and the room was very big, clean, and comfortable for a long stay. It was a nice walk into town through the park, but also along the main road. We did not eat at the hotel, but there was a nice cafe at the tram stop for the hotel. If you keep walking along the tram line away from the city you'll come across some nice little neighborhoods with shopping and restaurants. They did charge us another 5% upon check-out for a tourist tax or something ridiculous. It didn't state anything about an extra tax when we booked the room so we were a bit surprised. I didn't have the initial booking info with me so we just paid it. So you might want to just verify the price and take any documentation with you. But it is a lovely place to stay
