Transportation:

A1 or M1 from the North or South. Take York A64 road signs for A1237 after you pass Mcdonalds. Always approach York from the north for easy access. Follow A1237 until you reach A19 roundabout. Take A19 towards city centre, drive through clifton green past St Peters school on your right, to traffic lights adjecent to the Grange Hotel. Turn left into Bootham Crescent and we are 70 meters on the right. Please ring if you miss a turn and I will guide you in!

Bootham City Centre Guest House - as a guest house, exemplary. as an experience, essential.Me and my partner stayed for two nights at Bootham City Centre Guest House. Our experience of visiting York together was simply memorable. We enjoyed every minute of it and were missing it as soon as we were on our way back home. The Guest House played an important part of the essence of staying in York: friendly service, quality accommodation, delicious food, and local insight has created such a fondness that we have decided to return in the near future.

Would recommend this guesthouse to single travellers, couples and families...Warm welcome, very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Only one 'negative' from my ten year old son - the telly only had 5 channels! I was quick to point out that we were there to see York and experience a bit of culture. As long as I had a bit of GMTV I was happy! Would go back to the Bootham city Centre Guest House.

Fantastic!I was very impressed with this B&B. A good sized, nicely decorated room with a lovely ensuite. Walking distance to the city centre and very easy parking. Welcome was warm and informative. Fantastic little B&B, i'd definitely stay again.

The Bootham Guest House is situated in a very good area for easy access to the City centre and only a 5 minute taxi drive from the train station. You are greeted by very welcoming members of staff who are very helpfull at all times throughout your stay, the food that you recieve for your breakfast is to an excellant standard with a good range of options to choose from. The House it self is to a very high standard of cleanliness at all times. All in all we had a great weekend in York and a very comfortable stay in the guest house.One more thing, the couple that own the guest house were very helpfull and I would just like to say thank you.Cheers Mr and Mrs York

The breakfast was O.K. but I think it would be an idea to source local produce i.e local butchers sausages, not supermarket dross.The only complaint we had is the fact that hotel advertise a double bed in the room, which in our books means a 4ft6inch wide bed NOT a three quarter 4ft bed, as we found. Not much room for two adults sleeping together!The other complaint is against yourselves in that you should draw attention to ' 2. of your Conditions of Booking' by putting it in bold type and underlined, that the reason for the credit card details is just to make a reservation and NOT to take a payment for the total booking. We have booked accomodation in York before but through a different company and the credit card details were taken to pay for the total booking. We felt rather embarrassed when we came to leave the Hotel and were told we had not paid. The proprietors only take payment in cash or cheque form, and it was lucky that we just managed to scrape together enough cash (after Xmas shopping) on the day of departure to pay the bill.
