We had a great stay at Blue Water. Our villa was comfortable and absolutely spotless. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Getting around was easy on the local bus and regular trips to the local grocery store from the resort were helpful. The beach was tiny but clean and not crowded. The daily special at the bar/snack bar was particularly good - try the grouper!

We stayed at Blue Waters in one of the ocean villas and it was very nice. We arrived at 11 in the morning, and were able to check in. The resort was not full, and we were offered a lift to the grocery store to get a few things. The new manager is very excited to work on the renovations, and general appeal of Blue Waters. Her enthusiasm for Blue Waters and what it can be is very heartwarming. We had a few maintenance issues while we were there, but everything was fixed in a timely island manner. The condo was great in terms of what you got for your money. Sure beat a hotel room with 2 beds!! We saved a lot of money buying local food and eating in, and went into town on occasion by the local bus. Loved Senor Frogs! We loved the little beach and water - not crowded at all and everyone was very friendly. Great drinks at the bar - at half the price of those at Atlantis. Most of the people while we were there were timeshare families and we got a lot of good information from them. lots of hints of where to eat, shop, etc. Overall, if you are looking for a place in the middle of everything and with lots going on, with people everywhere, then this is not the place for you. We went for relaxation and just some quiet time in the sun and that is exactly what we got. Town and all the crowds is just a $1 bus ride away!

As resorts go, this was about average. If you're on a budget, Blue Water might work, but don't expect a luxurious vacation. While we were there, we saw some prospective timeshare buyers looking over the place and they didn't seem too impressed, either. The landscaping is pretty shabby, there are no real organized activities for kids and there is no fitness center on site. Upon arrival, the place looks pretty dilapidated. I guess if you just want to sit on a small beach and sip drinks, then it's OK. Just not my idea of a family dream vacation.
