The Blue Heron Inn was just what we needed-comfortable, close to all the things we enjoy on Chincoteague,& easy to move about in the room.

Inexpensive was the only benefit. Unfriendly staff for discounted room patrons. The hotel is a cheap economy type, although they do have WIFI.

We loved the outdoor pavilion and steamers. We were able to cook our freshley caught crabs right there! Great location, and the staff were more than helpful and friendly.

** I have been coming to Chincoteague Island for vacations since 1993** Well upon check-in the staff was rude when I asked if we could not be placed in the room under the main staircase. He moved us, but into a room that must not be used regularly. In the morning, NO HOT WATER for over 3 hours. Multiple excuses, I believe they had shut the hot water heater for these set of rooms since they are hardly used and the plumber who they were gonna call on a sunday (yeah right) never made it out there. Somehow the hot water heater fixed itself and by 2 pm it was hot again. Anyway, we had to take shower in another room (down the other wing) and when they finally moved us to another room with hot water I came out into the hallway only to find it pitch dark. Upon questioning the front desk as to why the lights were out, he said oh you two are the only ones staying in that wing, I am trying to save some electricity. Huh? Would not stay here again if my life depended on it. Oh well, live and learn.

Location to park entrance. Uncomfortable beds & lobby smoking by staff. While the hotel was in a great location a few details made the stay very unpleasant. The first problem is the very hard and uncomfortable beds. The staff also smokes in the indoor lobby/office area which migrates throughout the building halls. Most rooms are non-smoking but the smell from the staff makes it seem like a smoking hotel. I do not plan to stay at this hotel in the future and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Value is what comes to mind when describing the Blue Heron. Excellent location, pool, free breakfast at a local restaurant, and a friendly helpful staff made our 3 days pleasant. Bonus: Screened picnic pavillion - nice and new!

Amazing outdoor grilling/ fire patio and great staff. They did not have breakfast in the off-season. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location, a very short walk to the gates of Assateague. Outdoor/ screened-in grilling/steaming area was phenomenal and free for guests to use for their fresh caught or locally purchased amazing seafood from the Chincoteague area. Pool in excellent condition. Rooms well kept and modest. I will stay there again and would recommend to friends

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The bed was not comfortable and they need security locks on the doors. The hotel is in a good location to access Assateague Island. There is good dinning in the area close by. The staff was very friendly. The lobby and rooms were clean but the bed was very uncomfortable.
