Black Jack Inn is two miles south of Coushatta Casino and Golf Course, approximately 35 miles from Lake Charles Airport, and 50 miles from Alexandria and Lafayette. Kinder was established in 1885 and was named after the first settler, James Kinder. He opened a small store, and as settlers migrated into the area, the name developed by the constant usage. Kinder's Calcasieu and Ouiska Chitto rivers present rafting and canoeing opportunities. The property's amenities include free parking, a daily complimentary continental breakfast, 24-hour front desk service, and free shuttle service to Coushatta Casino and Golf Course. the room was neat and clean. I can't complain about that place. my reservation was handled in five minutes. There also was an ice machine.

Check-in was fast. Instead of two queen beds, there was one king. The room smelled damp. Some difficulty adjusting the A/C - no markings on the controls. Housekeeping does not understand the "Do Not Disturb" sign. In general, just appears run down - paint worn down to bare wood, caulk missing from sink, etc. Not even an alarm clock is provided. BUT - it is an inexpensive room, and that was the goal. On the next trip, will probably spend a little more elsewhere for a better room.

I did not make the reseveration but things were not right from the start. We booked and paid for in advance 2 rooms. When we arived they said they only had 1 room. But when they saw they had billed for 2 they gaves us 2 rooms. This place was dark and dirty. I saw roaches running around the bed make noises like it was old. There was not even a coke machine. I have stayed in Cheaper hotel motel 6's that were better than this place. Will never stay again. I could go on but why. Don't Stay Here.

We booked and paid for our room days in advance and had confirmation. When we arrived for check-in were told there was no rooms available and that Agency we used made the mistake of not telling us.Which we do not believe for ONE second.Reason being it was a Holiday weekend and they were charging 50% more for the rooms which wasn't worth the first rate. The person in front of me paid this price and I was told that it was the last room they had. The looby wasn't that clean so we knew the rooms couldn't be any better. We were HAPPY in the end because we went to a name Brand Hotel and recieved a good clean room and very good service.Thanks Black Jack Inn. We will never use another No Known Name hotel or motel again.

Even though it was a last minute vacation, the service should have been so much better. Check out was between 11:00 - noon and they started banging on the door at 11:15 to tell us to leave. Once we started to get ready and pack they banged and called 10 times before noon. So many people were appalled on their behavior. It was uncalled for. Will not stay there again. WE will stay in a name brand hotel next time. Toilet was filthy. Received 2 towels only. Blankets were so unclean. Musty smelling.

We booked this room for 2 nights but had to leave after the first because it was horrible. The beds are sooo nasty & i think they use the same sheets over & over again w/o washing them. After this hotel we went to the Scottish inn which was a bit further from the caisno.. it was a WAY better experiance.. the rooms were soo much cleaner and the price was just right! i would recommend scottish inn but not Black jack inn..

The lobby, hallways and our room had a disgusting odor. There was very little in the was of amenities and hardly any towels, the linens did not appear to be very fresh. The hallways and corner areas were dark and filthy. The area around the soda and ice machines were beyond filthy. I would not stay at this motel again if they only charged me $. instead of $.!
