I highly recommend this hotel
Date of Stay:
June, 2009
The setting was beautiful, with separate buildings of 10 - 12 units in each, not your typical long two story ugly building.

My husband and I liked it so much that we have gone 3 times in 1 month. It is comfortable and in a good area. The view is just gorgeous. I cant wait to go back.

The location and scenery from the rooms is great. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were smelly and need some work done on the interior to update and refresh them. Having a small refrigerator and microwave was a great help.

The rooms are in the midst of beautiful full grown trees. The builders clearly respected the site and preserved it for us to enjoy.

The setting, within the trees was very relaxing as well providing privacy. Would recommend this hotel for its location & ambiance. Definitely affordable for families

Very very nice hotel. Staff was overlly friendly.. clean rooms.. very nice pool/hot tub. Some rooms do not come with a microwave though as advertised. We stayed 7 nights here and would definitely stay again if we visited Yosemite in the future. The only negative thing was the restraunt attached to the hotel. Waitresses and staff were not very friendly and were very rushed... Otherwise, I would recommend the BBQ place off of Hwy 41 and a good pizza place called Me and Ed's near the grocery store in town!

If you want a cut and slice regular hotel - you can find them in Oakhurtst , but the Best Western had it's own character which we really appreciated from the art to the carvings to the park-like setting. Because of the unusual heat in May we appreciate a ground floor room - cool, calm and dark for sleeping. The fridge and microwave were also good. Being away from the road another plus. The rooms were clean and I thought, spacious. We enjoyed the pool outside immensely - it made us feel like we were finally on vacation. Breakfast was a little odd as the ladies were lovely but a bit confused, as if they had never served before, but they were sweeties. We went to a recommended BBQ place up the road which was uncomplicated and filling.

I look forward to staying at the BW Yosemite Gateway. This was our 2nd visit and found it a welcome and pleasant stay both times. Clean, plenty of space. They have done a great job of creating high country atmosphere.BW has provided us with pleasant accomodations whenever we travel but especially in Oakhurst.

Availability of 2 queen sized beds in a room& coziness it gives. Breakfast not included& no WiFi. There are many mosquitoes in the room, and no assistance provided.

This is a very quaint motel. The people were nice and friendly. The room was nice and quiet. There was not continental, although the restaurant on-site was very good. A little difficult to find the room in the dark, and the second floor is a little hard to get to. But it is close to the park and still is quite a treat.

I have to say, the Best Western Yosemite Gateway Inn in Oakhurst, California was an amazing place to stay. I just needed a place to sleep, because I was not going to be in the room much. I was visiting Yosemite, and the Yosemite Sugar Pine Mountain Railroad, and just needed a resting place. I was blown away with the beauty, cleanliness, staff courtesy, and resort like setting for this hotel! I will stay there anytime I'm in the area. The bed was comfortable, the room had an amazing view, and the bathroom was huge and very clean and well maintained! It made me want to spend more time in my room. The hotel is a very value for the money!

The atmosphere of this motel is very friendly and a very cozy place to stay. Can't think of a thing. We were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. Room was clean and very nicely decorated. The restaurant was great. Staff and food were excellent. Prices were very reasonable.

While this hotle is 1 1/2 hrs away from the center of Yosemite Natl Park, it is very clean and comfortable and offers acces to many local restarants. The beds were confortable and the rooms were clean. We did experience some minor temp fluctuations in water temperature in peak showering hours - but otherwise a great place to stay.

The Bestwestern Gateway at Yosemite was very comfortable. The room size was large, with close access to parking. The location was very good to the Yosemite national park. The hotel staff were friendly and nice. All restaurants and amenities (gas station, grocery stores) were very close and accessible. Will stay again.

Can't think of anything. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. The desk staff could be a little more friendly. The housekeeper was very nice and helpful. The room had a balcony that was good for my husband to smoke outside. We will definitely stay there again.

1.5 hours from Yosemite Valley this was ideal place for one day trip. Pools were nice, computer available in lobby for free internet use, beautiful location and nice room. Some Best Western's offer free breakfast, this one did not. Oh well.

The whole feel of the hotel was as if you were in the woods. The small balcony had chairs that you could sit and enjoy the outdoors. You felt you were very close to Yosemite.

I love the scenery - It snowed and made it more beautiful. I felt, I was double charged, but I need to follow up. Nice, clean, cozy.
