a welcome supprisewe booked a double room the night before we travelled and were very supprised to find when we arrived to be given the honeymoon sweet. the hotel offers an excellent friendly and a quality service throughout

all in all hotel very good and happy with it. 2 things come to mind though. at the time of booking in, the receptionist was not the most forthcoming or of the happiest of natures only being able to tell us which room we had and where to go. on retiring to room at 21.30 we were greeted with a loud booming which could only be described as a boy racers boom box. it became apparent we were over that evenings entertainment and venue. it did only continue until midnight but never the less we had not been made aware of this situation, perhaps foretold would of been forewarned and we would\could of even managed to join in. in hind site this in retrospect, would not stop us using the vine again because we were very pleansantly surprised with what we received for the price we paid.

Little Gem of a place, stunning! This is the second time we have stayed here and although our room wasn't as big as the first one, the standard was still as good as ever. We arrived and instantly had a meal in the bar. The bar food is excellent and good value for money (£10 for 2 meals). I assume that the restaurant is pricier, but even so you are guaranteed a good meal. We managed to stay here again at a reduced price thanks to laterooms.com. The setting is lovely (very English Heritage)and only a 20 minute walk to the town. Will be staying again, soon I hope! The full english breakfast is delicious and plenty of it. You can also have continental if you have a smaller appetite. Overall very happy !! ***

Skegness Short breakThis Hotel was recommended to us and it did not dissappoint. We had a lovely time there and we plan to go back.

Very very small room, extremely uncomfortable and cramped, had to move chair to gain access to wardrobe, also extremely hot, window would not open and towel rail in en suite could not be turned down or off.We have two dogs, found £5.00 per dog per night unreasonable.

Awoken by loud voices and no apology offered.I was awoken at 01:40 by people shouting outside my room. Then I noticed that there wer very loud voices in conversation, which were loud enough to prevent my returning to sleep. I telephoned reception who told me that it was probably people in the bar, and that they would be advised to keep it down. I also mentioned the earlier instance of shouting outside my room, and was advised that they were golfers and that they would probably be asleep by now. What I would have liked to see was some money taken off my bill for the disturbance but I did not even receive an apology. I always think an apology counts for a great deal.

Lovely (Apart from allowing dogs)Had a lovely meal and excellent room at this hotel. Only drawback was that they allow some people to have their dogs stay with them and so we could not even sit in the bar after our meal as I am very allergic. No mention of this on the hotel description.

After a good experience staying before at this hotel we thought we would stay again, this time however it was not so good. The room was basic and cold and the bar staff were more interested in talking about there tattoo's and boyfriends than actually serving guests.

Room small but well equipped with a comfortable bed. Staff helpful and welcoming. Can't comment on food as I only had breakfast and that was only toast and coffee.
