When i arrived at the hotel the first impressions were a modern and traditional style combined which is always nice. The reception staff were very helpful throughout the visit from the moment i arrived and they helped me to my room and carry our bags to the moment we left. My husband and i thouroughly enjoyed the visit! The landscape is also very relaxing with beautiful gardens onsite. we dined in the restaurant in the evening and it was clear the staff at the Valley hotel only do things by perfection! the quality, taste and appearance were all outstanding. i havent scored top marks for the pricing because it is pricy but worth every penny! we have already booked our return visit for next year with friends! we reccomend the Valley hotel to anybody!!

Would of enjoyed my stay more if the gentlemen in the room next to me did not wake me up at 2am in the morning with his snoring - maybe the hotel should consider sound proofing!

Satisfactory room and service. I checked on your site before booking , it was confirmed that there was a lift. Unfortunately it only covers part of the hotel. My room was up a steep twisting stair, being 80 years old I needed assistance with my case. This was promtly supplied, and again on Sunday when leaving. So no real problem.Staff friendly & helpful.

Quite a bizarre place - my room seemed to be part of an old house leading off an old cobbled street. This whole street has now been roffed over with a modern roof and the cottages converted into modern bedrooms. The only thing that I didn't like was that the window of the room looked out into the old alley way (now corridor) rather than to the outside.Room service was reasonably priced and decent quality - just watch that the bill is correct though at checkout time.

The hotel was in a pleasant location with gardens and parkland to walk around, also would be a good location to visit all the local attractions. The staff were efficient and friendly, breakfast was good quality and service very good, though the chioce on the buffet was not massive. I didn't eat in the restaurant as it was rather expensive, though there are plenty of pubs and restaurants just down the road by the bridge. The room was on the small side, especially the bathroom, not too bad for the cheaper deal I got on laterooms but wouldn't have been very happy if I'd paid full whack. I found the hotel hot in general, it was a mild but not warm weekend and I had the window open most of the time which was ok except a little noisy when the wedding party was directly under the window on the saturday evening. Wasn't disturbed by the wedding party in the night though, I was by the creaking floor boards above me, it really sounded like someone was walking across my room, a bit creepy when you are on your own! The bed was also on the creaky side and the tv a bit fuzzy, generally I'd say pleasant but kind of old fashioned.

The hotel was very conveniently located in Ironbridge. A good base for visiting all of the attractions in the area. The nearby power station was not really an issue- no noise and was hidden by trees. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Definitely would stay here again on any future visits.

The hotel is very attractive externally and internally, and is well maintained. The location is excellent, with the hotel having its own mature gardens, and being close to the river and other public gardens. It is within easy walking distance of Ironbridge centre. Our reception was very warm, friendly and helpful and this set the trend for the rest of the service we received at the hotel. I would have scored higher for the 'quality of the room' had it been bigger. In all other respects the room was very comfortable, clean and had good facilities. Very good breakfast.

The directions were good, the hotel easy to find. the gardens of the hotel were good for birdwatching. We had a delightful room, with a window seat and windows to two aspects. the windows opened and there was good access to a fire escape. We were awoken by the sound of a woodpecker. We stayed at a very reasonable price with Late Rooms.The only drawback for us was that our room was on the second floor and there was no lift. I have trouble with my hips which can be made worse by climbing stairs. The staff were so helpful that I am sure they would have altered my room if I had asked. As my room particulars had already been printed out before I learned of the lack of a lift and as I was only staying for one night I didn't query the second floor room. It may have been full on the ground floor and first floor in any case. Ask before you go if you have problems.

The main communal areas of the hotel are fine and the breakfast was good, but the size of the room was terrible. The first room had the air conditioning unit outside the window and was tiny with the smallest double bed I have ever seen. We were moved to another room which was a bit bigger - but discovered that night it was above the disco so had to listen to that until 1am. Plus the room above had the noisest floor boards I have ever heard so everytime the people above moved it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. (So not a good night sleep) The decor in the room is more what you would expect in a small B&B and not a 3 star hotel.

Although the hotel had a great location, the staff left a lot to be desired!! They seemed as if it was a huge effort on their part to help you with any small request you might have, like repairing the lock on our bedroom door which was broken when we arrived! Unable to get anyone to serve us at the bar at 6.30pm, so we gave up and went to a pub in the village. The room was so tiny you had to squeeze around the bed!! The bathroom wasn't very good, just a bath and a totally inadequate hand held shower that fitted onto the bath taps, and no shower curtain!! For the price the room should have been this was appauling!!
