The Best Western Uptown Hotel (Vancouver)was well maintained, neat, and situated well for access to Skytrain, bus links, and the Vancouver Train Terminal. Relatively inexpensive for a Vancouver city hotel. The location on East Broadway is also convenient for many Broadway cafes and restaurants that have some character, such as Our Town Cafe.

New beds, friendly staff, free continental breakfast. Location, wireless internet in lobby only. The hotel is a $15 cab ride to downtown Vancouver, the rooms are not special but they have new beds, the lobby area is small and the hotel has no pool or exercise area. The area is not a place to go for a walk at night. For just a place to stay it is ok. Nothing special about the hotel. The staff is the best thing the hotel has going for it.

We were simply looking for an overnight stay convenient for the Rocky Mountaineer train the following morning. This hotel was perfect: just a short taxi drive away.

Newer property that is situated between Chinatown and a Vietnamese neighborhood. Lots of interesting little shops and ethnic restaurants in the neigbhorhood. However, I wouldn't recommend walking the neighborhood between the hotel and Chinatown after dark, even though the staff doesn't share that concern! We visited without a car and found easy access to the local transit system. We were able to ride easily to Stanley Park and a few other areas. Rooms are nice and well kept.

We traveled with another couple and picked the location for travel in Vancouver and the general area. My wife was attending a medical convention so it was a vacation and business mix. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Big room with microwave and frig. The only down side was the parking. We ended up with an upgraded rental car that was a midsize SUV. Comfortable for 4 people and luggage but tricky parking in the basement garage. A small car would have been easier parking. Staff was great and the continental breakfast was adequate. Yogurt, boiled eggs, begels, etc. The general area felt safe and we did some walking to the grocery store and to ethnic resteruants in the area.

Close to MEC & Tai Chi Centre where I was going for a workshop. Street noise from Kingway - easily fixed with ear plugs!

Located across street to shopping mall for food supplies, etc. Noise in room - sounded like AC tapping noise - never could locate where it was coming from. The hotel was ok for a short visit in Vancouver. Not walking accessible to downtown tourist areas but easily accessible and inexpensive to use public transportation (taxi costs around $5 to $6 USD, city bus appx. $2.50 USD). Only has small room for cold breakfast of assorted rolls, cereal, fruit, coffee/juice/milk. Overflow guests had to find place to eat in lobby.

Front desk staff needs a class on customer service and people skills. Parking in the garage is a nightmare. Parking is secure but front desk did not tell us the parking garage comes to a dead end with no possible way out, unless you back out. Parking stalls are VERY small and narrow, if you drive something larger than a Yugo it will be very tight manuvering around. I damaged my dodge caravan trying to get out. The front desk gave an apology, but did not seem suprised by it.

Has a great older look and classic layout. The room was small and didn't have extra cots. This is one of the best values for a chain hotel in the downtown Vancouver area. Clean and neat. Because this is an older building that was converted into a hotel late in its life, the hallways and room layout are a bit smaller than a standard hotel. But the staff was accommodating and met our expectations.

Friendly and very informative staff. Room was a little small but adequate for my needs on this trip. Overall I was impressed with the hotel and the staff. The room was basic but clean and sufficient for my needs on this particular trip. It was central to everything I wanted to see and visit. The staff was excellent and catered to my needs and requests. They were very knowledgeable and informative regarding the area, public transportation and local dining.

Too far from downtown. It was in a weird neighborhood. Weird location - close to nothing. Was given a smoking room when requested non-smoking room.

Quiet local, just a few minutes drive to the famous Stanley Park. Limited parking spaces in under ground access controlled garage, narrow stalls - scraped my side view mirror when exiting the garage. The under ground garage is horrible - very small and steep. Once you drive in can't turn around - had to back up your car to get out. By doing so, scraped my car side view mirror. Street side parking available after 6 pm till 11 am. Very close to west gate mall, below grocery store. Public library and post office in under ground mall. Very helpful - use internet service in library.

We like the high ceilings. It made the room much more comfortable. No complaints. The hotel was very strategically located and convenient to all shopping and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the service, the cleanliness and 12 ft ceilings in our top floor rooms.

Spacious rooms with good equipment. The smell was bad. It was not difficult to go to downtown with bus and/or skytrain.

Central to many things, on the bus route. Out of the way. Not many quality restaurants around it. Clean, nice staff, rooms is adequately furnished with two sitting chairs, desk, and beds. Local calls were free. Staff was helpful. Continental breakfast was muffins and bagels/toast. Could have had more variety and some fruits.
