Date of Stay: June, 2009

This was consistent with all of the other Best Westerns I have stayed at in the last several years. They have free breakfasts and in-room coffee. Free computer in the lobby to check email. Clean room. It's close to the convention center, but quite a bit less than the hotels that are closer. Lots of dining options on the walk to and from the hotel to the convention center. Plus, not too spooky to walk back at night in the dark.

We were pleasently surprised with this less expensive motel. It was clean, well appointed and our king room was spacious. We'll go back again.

We were 2 adults/2children. We needed something affordable to do sight-seeing with 2 children. Hotel is very close to State Capitol, Sutter's Fort, Old Town Sac., etc. Very nice, clean, large room. Free continental breakfast was wonderful! Hot waffles, biscuits and gravy, pastries, fruit, etc. The breakfast room was clean and large enough, and the attendants were very helpful and friendly. Hotel pool is on 2nd floor, nicely secluded from street. Check-in clerk was very nice. We would definitely stay there again. Easy access from I-5.

Was there for Democratic State Convention. The location was downtown and convenient. Spent little time at hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating, rooms clean, breakfast O K but would have been better had there been a way to heat rolls and biscuits, which seemed not very fresh, and fruit past its prime.

Conveniently located. Remodeling - I had a weird handicapped room. I had a horrible room, small beds, weird layout as it was designed for the handicapped. Hotel was undergoing remodeling in the lobby - so lots of drop cloths and paint smells. The front desk was able to print out my flight boarding pass - which was nice. But they were confused about the billing.

The Best Western Sutter House was very nice and comfortable hotel, the location just a walking distance from downtown Sacramento attraction such as old sacramento and capitol park. There were a lot of restaurants choices around the hotel location. The staff were friendly, the room just as large as what we expect and in front of swimming pool area, the pillows comfortable, everything clean and nice. We had waffle, egg, apples for breakfast. Everything just right. But I like the location, it just right.

Well located for easy Downtown access walking distance to everything. Rooms were very small, especially bathrooms. Hotels in the Downtown area are very expensive, and this was about the only reasonable choice. The rooms are very small, especially the bathrooms, but the beds had nice linens and pillows and were very comfortable I slept great. There is a fair amount of street noise in the morning if you get an outside room, but it wasn't unbearable. I also really liked the free wireless internet access, the complementary breakfast, and HBO. All in all I was pleased with my stay here.

I have stayed in this hotel several times, and will use it again. It's a great value. I have stayed in more expensive hotels in Sacramento and have had exactly the same kind of room. This is a quiet hotel. Since you have to go through the lobby, by the main desk, to access the rooms, I have no safety worries. People just can't go into the hotel without staff knowing it. There are security cameras in the parking area...which is under the building, so that it is in the shade. This is a real plus in the Central Valley, where temperatures easily reach three digits in summer. The rooms are clean, the beds large and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown businesses, restaurants and coffee shops.

The Best Western Sutter House was in a good location for visiting downtown sites. We arrived at our hotel before check in time. The rooms (two) were ready and we were graciously accomodated. It was in easy walking distance of both the capitol, Old Town Sacramento, and the Railroad Museum. The room was nicely appointed which was a pleasant surprise. We found it to be a very good value for a downtown hotel. Road traffic was loud, but did subside late in evening. All in all, it was a good choice and a great value.

Front staff was helpful with directions to Old Town but couldn't provide much help in using their wireless internet equipment. Lamp was dusty and the pool (although the weather was too cool to use) had leaves in it- didn't look good. Be careful in the bathroom- although I put down the bath mat, the floor got slightly wet, the tiles were VERY slippery and I took a nasty fall.

The hotel is located in downtown Sacremento and was surprisingly inexpensive. There is an excellent Italian resturant associated with the hotel that is on the grounds. The room was comfortable w/o being fussy. Parking is right outside the door. The staff was helpful in answering questions about best routes back to I-5.

older building, but you can tell they've put some money into some nice upgrades to the room amenities like bedding, carpet, bath rooms, etc...some rooms are near indoor hallways which make them quieter than others that face the pool - something to consider in a summer visit. Parking is enclosed but not secured, so I wouldn't leave anything in the car. Overall, very nice and conveniently located for a downtown Sacramento visit.

The Best Western Sutter house was very nice. Comfortable Beds, Nice, Big Solar-Heated Pool, Great Room Service, Very Nice Area. The rooms were large and had a nice view of the buildings of Sacramento. The location was great--it was two blocks down from The Capitol Building, Three Blocks Down from the Department of Education and the Department of Health Services, and Four Blocks down from the Mall and Old Sacramento. There was also a nice Italian Restaurant (Sofia's) in the same parking lot as the hotel.

We stayed at the Best Western Sutter House for 2 nights. It was a business/family trip with our 2 year old son. The room was comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful with directions to the zoo and Fairytale town. The breakfast was warm and filling and the staff in the breakfast room was also helpful and pleasant. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant or use the pool, so we can't say anything about them, but overall we'd definetly stay here again! Very family friendly!!!!

The Sutter House is centrally located in downtown Sacramento and close to many of the attractions, including the Capitol, Old Sacramento, and the Governor's Mansion. Rooms were clean and comfortable. And the adjacent restaurant, Sofia's, was wonderful.

Fast, friendly service. Room was extremely clean and wonderfully comfortable. Great location! Easy on and off from I-5, close to Downtown and Old Town. I would definitely stay again!
