My husband and I booked and stayed at the Sunset for the fourth of July. Our stay was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt like I was at home. It was clean and the breakfast they offer was very good. Gabriel that is the server/hostess was very nice and courteous. The breakfast was eye appealing and good and the price was very reasonable. We'd like to tell the staff at Sunset Best Western, Thank-you, you are an asset to the your employer and you all do a great job. We will stay again.

We should have requested a room that was not on Commerce street right off the highway. We had no idea how noisy it was going to be!! We will know next time we stay. We will ask for a room next to the parking lot and not the freeway. Very nice staff and very clean.

The location was perfect. The only bad thing was the train.

We enjoyed our stay at the BW Sunset Suites. It was a nice room with plenty of space, and it was clean. It was farther from the Riverwalk area than we thought, but not a bad walk. We would stay here again.

Rooms were very comfy, Breakfast was inexpensive, Staff was great. Free Parking but small pariking lot, Right by the Riverwalk!

Loved the old style remodeled lobby & public area. Train goes by at night and is pretty close to hotel. Nice and clean. Convenient downtown location and really like the old style decor. Very good value as well. We travel for business as well as pleasure and I would stay here again.

I wish someone had told me that the hotel supplied ear plugs because the train whistles go all night.? Make sure you use them or you'll have a sleepless night.? The ear plugs don't completely block out the sound so if you're sound sensitive; this is definately not the place.? The building is well renovated and the rooms are nice.? The breakfast buffet is reasonably priced but the selection is a bit limited.? The staff is also very nice except the housekeeping staff.? I went out for 3 hours and left out the request to have my room cleaned but it was not done so I was left cooling my heels in the lobby for about 45 minutes while they finally got to my room.? Also note that the praking is limited.? We got the last space twice so don't stay out late.? Also note that it really isn't walking distance to the Riverwalk since you need to go underneath a highway bridge which can be a bit scary at night.?

The hotel was great and close enough to walk to the River Walk, but far enough away not to charge an arm and a leg. It was probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in, in a hotel.

Comfort and quality of the room. Limited parking spaces. The interior of the hotel was much nicer than I expected as the outside seemed very plain. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. We heard the train, but it didn't bother us. The $3 breakfast had plenty of choices and I appreciated the fresh fruit.

This is the second time we've stayed here and once again it was terriffic. Ultra-clean & comfortable rooms, friendly staff, priced right. You can't beat it! Yes there is some train noise but we're the kind of people that it doesn't bother. Slept like a baby!! Also the breakfast is a steal.

We were attending the Shriner's Convention in San Antonio and this was the best hotel/motel facility that we have been in in 13 years. It was within easy walking distance of the Convention Center and the San Antonio Riverwalk area. We would gladly stay here in the future when we are in San Antonio. The rooms were clean and very comfortable.

Cleanliness and decor. Furniture I would pick for my own house. Breakfast is better than higher-priced hotels. The only drawback might be no view of Riverwalk, but good proximity. Train noise, either less than last year or I've become used to it.

The Sunset Suites Riverwalk is located just a couple of blocks from all the action of San Antonio's Riverwalk. Our stay there was very pleasant except for issues with the poor soundproofing in the rooms of this hotel. Our advice for travelers would be to insist on a fourth floor room inorder to avoid having someone in a room above you as we had. I really don't think those guests were trying to be noisy but they sounded like a herd of elephants running across our ceiling. And we had at least two different tenants spend time in that room over the course of our stay. The sounds of the trains going by during the night would only be a problem for a very light sleeper and the hotel does provide earplugs if you need them. There is another hotel being built just to the rear of the Best Western but the construction noise is limited to daylight hours and was not a problem. The bed was too soft for my liking but that is a common complaint I have with all hotels that use pillow top beds. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. We did ask to be moved to the fourth floor a couple of times but they were either unwilling or unable to fulfill that request even after my wife complained to the manager. The low cost full breakfast each morning (less than $3.OO a day per person) and the location are the biggest assets of the hotel. Free parking for our rental car was another plus. We would stay there again if we could be assured of a top floor room. I would highly recommend this hotel for young couples who want a good value.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Railroad tracks a couple of blocks away a little noisy. Really enjoyed the stay. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would most certainly stay there again.

Clean, attractive, nice staff--- great room and a convenient location--- an overpass away(about 2 blks) from "all the river walk action". Good bed and LOTS of pillows!- both soft and firm. Easy wi-fi --- I'd go back easily. I travel a lot for business and REALLY believe in convenience, comfort and elegance. This has that in a simple and dignified way.

Excellent location and price. Our group, which stayed at other hotels were envious of the size of our rooms and that we were able to get a full breakfast. Rooms were excellent with wonderfully soft beds. Staff was first rate and did everything to may stay pleasant.

The room exceeded expectations - was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There is a train that can be heard from the hotel. It did not wake me up, but could wake up a light sleeper. The staff was very courteous and the hotel room was nice - very comfortable. Everything in the room was high-quality. It certainly exceeded my expectations and was less expensive than other hotels in the area. I would stay there again.

Rooms were large and clean, staff was great and the hotel was located just two blocks from the Riverwalk. The hotel also has free internet service and a $3.19 breakfast that can't be beat. Although the neighborhood appeared questionable, I'm a female who walked alone to and from the Riverwalk late one night without any problems since the area was well lit. During my visit to San Antonio, I also stayed at the Marriott RiverCenter for a convention - just two blocks away -- where the rooms were smaller, I paid $20/day for internet service and I had to pay substantially more for breakfast. -- so the Best Western Sunset Suites were a much better deal. I also liked it because the rooms were much bigger -- ours even had a couch and chair. The only drawback I could find was that it didn't have a pool but I could live without that given that it had other amenities that the Marriott did not. In fact, I would very likely stay at the Best Western Sunset Suites --- rather than the Marriott --- the next time I'm in San Antonio.
