The room was nice for the price. Plenty of places to eat. We came to San Diego for a party so we really didn't eat at any restaurants. The continental breakfast was good. They make great waffles. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Location. Bed very uncomfortable. I've stayed in several different hotels over the past five years or so some very luxurious to economy and this hotel would be at the bottom of the list. I realized why I dislike those with exterior entrances; seems to be a lot more noise. I woke up multiple times due to my back hurting and got up to leave much earlier than planned as a result.

I have also stayed here more than once, and I would say I can sometimes recommend it. The air conditioner does not work in some of the rooms (I requested and got a room change last time), and there is some street noise, but not too bad. The exercise room is essentially non-functional. On the other hand, the included breakfast is great (waffles available!), there is a pool, the location right on the San Diego Trolley line is quite good (a 15-25 minute ride to downtown, depending on your exact destination), and rates are (usually) reasonable. An IGA supermarket is just across the street, and there are a few restaurants nearby.

this was a disgusting motel the outside was dirty the paint was chipped. at night there were shady people around i was afraid to get out of my car then at around midnight the clock alarm randomly went off and at around 3am people kept walking by our room i couldnt sleep the whole night with the noise they had their tv full blast. the motels near by had shady people outside too. inside the room the bed was hard as a rock and the bathroom door didnt even close. the towels were dirty. in the morning the maid woke us up before check-out time. i will never stay here again it was not worth * at all THE WORST PLACE EVER

I felt as if I was staying at the cheap motel. The peeling paint and overall rundown feel of the place was right for the neighborhood. The nicest restruant is a Black Angus across the street, but good luck getting there. The traffic is too thick and the nearest crosswalk is 3 blocks away. I ended up eating at the Denny's which wasn't so great either. There are plenty of Tattoo parlors and bars in the neighborhood so some might feel right at home.

The price. Hot water stopped working, and had to move to another room. Over all it was a pleasurable experience. Nothing extravagant, but a bed, shower, and TV for pass time. Close to 24 hour fast food, and convenient stores.

The room was overpriced. It was advertised as recently remodeled if so they skipped our room the paint was peeling off of the bathroom walls the tile was moldy. The room had a general feeling of uncleanliness. We were charged to use the in room safes !! Plus we were charged 21. per room more than the room next door which was identical. I have stayed in some nice Best Westerns but this certainly wasn""t one of them.

My wife and I had dental appointments in Tijuana. We didn't want to sit in traffic bound for Mexico, so we called to see what accomodations were available and chose Best Western in Chula Vista. We were surprised at the low price of the room. The king-sized bed with its firm mattress was a welcome treat after a long tenuous drive. The staff were all very courteous and pleasant. This will surely be our home-from-home destination on our next dental appointment.

Checking out. Door keys didn't work, staff wasunprofessional. This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. They made us wait an hour while they tried to fix our door locking mechanism. The maintenance personnel were unfriendly.

The staff at BW South Bay Inn, very friendly, helpful and knowledgable about area and San Diego. Recomended taking trolly to baseball game instead of driving great suggestion. Trolly dropped us off right in front of Petco Park, in the heart of Gaslamp . Never would have found parking. Trolly stopp 100 yards from the lobby.

The hotel was conviently located in Chula Vista. I like the fact that there was a fridge and a microwave in the room, its great when traveling with children. However, the pool left much to be desired and the clientel was quiet noisey.

Shady neighborhood, hotel felt very safe. No signs to the ice machines. It was nice for the money, the hotel looked older however the room was more modern then expected. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at every turn.

The hotel looked nice on the outside but once we finally checked in the room the floor was not very clean. The housekeeping staff failed to change the sheets one day, never cleaned the coffee pot, and failed once to refresh our towels and give new coffee in the room for 3 days. But on a good note the bed was comfortable and the a/c worked great and there were plenty of cable channels to choose from.

Lots of places to eat close by and real close to public transportation. The room was not very clean and the bathroom was really dirty. The hotel was OK, I guess I couldn't ask for much more for the price. It was nice being so close to public transportation and quite a few restaurants. It would have been nicer if the room was a little cleaner.

After staying at this location I pretty much have taken Best Western as an option for my family. The room was not very clean. There were no towels by the pool and when we asked for extra towels the quality of the towel was worse than that of the room towels. They asked us to walk over to the office to get them. Their snack machine took all our change and the office could not help with that. Just overall not extremely pleasant.
