Located in the heart of the beautiful Mogollon Rim country and surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves Forest. Heber was founded by Mormon settlers in 1883. The first settlers were farmers and ranchers until approximately 1926 when the first sawmill was built here. Considering the vast natural resource of timber in the surrounding area, the sawmill and logging business has been the mainstay of the Heber area for many years. | My family went to ABQ. On our way back home we got stuck in snow near Heber, AZ.Thank god there was a Best Western. Staff was very helpful they helped me dig up my car. Manager even let us check-in early. They gave kids sled to play in the snow. Even though the trip was unintentional we are very glad that it happed. We found a hotel when we needed one, manager took us to the restaurant because our car didn?t work. Kid had fun playing in snow. The Best Western Sawmill Inn Heber was very nice. We had lots of fun. From now on this is the place for us to spend a night when we go see our family in Albuquerque,NM. I would recommend this hotel to anyone we had lots of fun??. |

| it was a great trip. we even saw 2 dears right across from the hotel. perfect weather. my kids loved it. |
