My stay at the Best Western Roundhouse Suites, Boston, was pleasurable in many ways. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our suite was clean and well maintained. Breakfast, which was provided in the fee, was wonderful, although the breakfast area was crowded and required alittle patience to maneuver. The free shuttle was a bonus and public transportation is not far for those who don't mind a short walk. The biggest drawback to this hotel is the shortage of restaurants nearby and the general sleaziness of the neighborhood. I felt safe to walk around during the day, but definately not at night. The loud disturbance at 1:30 am one night next door didn't endear me to the surroundings in the least, but made for a fun story to tell. I would, however, stay at this hotel again as it is a great value for the money in Boston.

Close to transit, very friendly, very clean. Cool enough to keep windows open (4th floor) but noisy outside. Was unfamiliar with Boston, but for mobility, this was a reasonable location. No restaurant in motel, but we had planned accordingly so it was not an issue. Hotel shuttle very convenient, made several trips and driver was very accommodating.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is several miles from local attractions, but a free shuttle is provided to take you to and from the Commoms area, Fenway Park, and other designated areas. (call when you are ready from them to pick you up) Rooms are a suite where the large bedroom is seperate from the large sitting area. Free internet is available. Hotel was a little pricey***but most of the ones I found in Boston near certain areas were just as high. The free shuttle at least cut down on your taxi fares.

We had a good-sized clean suite for 2 adults and 3 kids but getting to/from Boston and airport was not what we expected. Be aware that airport transfer is not free, as I thought; it is 8 per adult each way and we waited 40 minutes after calling from Logan after an 8-hour international flight with jetlag. There is a free local shuttle to a few downtown sites but it runs 7am-10pm (not 11pm as advertised) and the last call for pick-up is actually 9:45pm. The local shuttle can drop off/pick up at T stations but it's a 10-15 min walk from there. The first morning we arrived downstairs for breakfast (which was good and free!) at 9am to find it extremely crowded -- only about 10 tables for 92 hotel rooms. So we learned and had breakfast the next morning at 7:30 and it was much more manageable. The staff was helpful and stored our luggage all day after checkout but this was behind an unlocked door (where there were admin offices as well). Also, after coming back to the room on Friday, we discovered our suite door was unlocked; however, nothing was missing and I'm not sure whose error it was (ours or theirs). Staff was very helpful and courteous but facilities were just not what we were hoping for. Our suite was square like any other hotel room (but with skimpy blackout curtains and soundproofing) so the cache of a round hotel was only apparent from the outside. I would have booked Embassy Suites (where I've stayed twice before) but their price was exhorbitant when I made arrangements for this trip. A few days before we left, the price difference was only 50/night; for that difference, I wish I had chosen the convenience and pool of Embassy

Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Their shuttle service was EXTREMELY helpful. Hotel was located near the hospital. As we traveled around Boston and met people and they found out where we staying they thought we were staying in the rougher part of Boston. Wouldn't have gone out at night. Staff and hotel conditions were good for the price if all you need or looking for is a place to sleep.

Quick maintenance service. Female front desk staff. Front desk staff was unhelpful when assisting with transportation. The hotel offed shuttle to train stops, but they canceled it on Sunday May 17, leaving travelers to fend for themselves once they got off at a train stop. Front desk staff said you'll have to deal with it. The actual shuttle drivers were very helpful and friendly. The female front desk staff was unfriendly, unwilling to go out of their way to help where we in the end, made our own travel arrangements at one point, they even gave away our taxi we called because an older couple was very upset with the front desk lack of assistance. Rather than deal with the situation, they told the couple to take our taxi.

This was a great idea. I normally stay with family on this annual trip where I and childhood friends (all in our 70's) return home for an annual reunion; but, this time because of unusual circumstances, I stayed at the Roundhouse. It was recommended by one of my returning friends who had booked a suite at this all suites hotel. This was a pleasant surprise. Lovely suites and welcomed privacy; clean, courteous and accommodating staff. I was much more comfortable here than I would have been had I stayed with family. No dining room was no problem for me. The continental breakfast was quite complete and delivery from some of the better restaurants was an option; the shuttle to almost everywhere including the airport was a welcomed bonus. Although the business center with it's two computers was small it was adequate for me, who left my laptop at home. In room internet connection would have sufficed had I brought a laptop. Size of this two room suite was perfect and the spacious, clean bathroom was a pleasure. It's location was perfect for family and friends who could get to us with ease, and even gather for a private, evening wine and cheese get-together on our last night there. I give this hotel an A+ and recommend it highly for other seniors, families and other individuals. I will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Can't find a better deal for family travel. I had 4 kids sleep comfortably in my room without extra charge. Unfortunately, we had problems at check-in. First we were sent to a room that had not been cleaned. After being sent to a 2nd room, there were a couple relatively minor, but annoying, problems with the room that I needed to contact front desk for. After that, visit went smoothly. Free parking is provided, but I checked-in at 10:30PM and got the very last parking space.

This was a nice property and the staff was stellar and accomodating. The room was very comfortable and large and clean. The A/C in my room seemed broken so that was really comfy considering it was way hot out - I also didn't mention it as I was really busy. The neighbourhood is a bit iffy, not dangerous but not too freindly either - you can hear the emergency vehicles in and out of the hospital next door all night so that wasn't great. Good proximity to essential shopping as the mall is right down the street. The proximity to special shopping was non-existent. The complimentary breakfast was great

Good bedding, space, room cleaned well daily. Non-smoking hotel, room reeked of smoke! Room doused with air freshener when we arrived, when it wore off roomed stank of smoke. I had to clean all my clothes afterwords, everything smelled!

I choose this hotel due to it's location to the Symphony Hall. I was surprised that the hotel had a shuttle that will take you to anywhere within 2.5 miles. It was a plus and I used it every day during my stay.

Just stayed one night. I was not crazy about the neighborhood, but the hotel itself was clean, very roomy and beautifully maintained and quiet. I loved the free shuttle service to areas all over Boston. The shuttle service starts at 7 am and runs through 10 pm. When you are ready to return to the hotel, you just need to call the hotel and they will give you an estimated time for pick-up. The shuttle was the reason I chose this hotel. There is not much within walking distance, cabs are very expensive and traffic is horrendous. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Dining options are available through Dine In an independent room service business that offers food from local area restaurants.

Location for our needs was good. Surrounding area is depressing. The hotel is between the Boston convention center and the Harvard club. Hotel provides shuttle to areas in the city.

Situated literally inches aways from major highways, if you get stuck on the lower floors you'll wish you brought earplugs (I did as standard packing procedure, even then the noise was horrendous.). Any level of security for parking would have been appreciated. As is you park in a vacant lot in the back of the hotel with no one but an adjacent gas station attendant to hear you if somehting happens.I complained so hard that I was given a penthouse room which was very nice but I didn't notice much since I was trying to catch up on my sleep from the night before.

"We were pleasantly surprise. The Hotel was clean, odor free and the rooms were comfortable with basic features. Transportation to the subway was easily available and the uniqueness of the structure with it's history made it fun. We are planning another trip to Boston and will definitely stay there again."

Affordable, and clean. Clean. Terrible neighborhood, must take taxis because you can not walk in it.
