Excellent serviceA very friendly hotel. My room was perfectly clean. Unfortunately it had been a very sunny day and the room, at the top of the main buiding, was very hot. I had to have the window open and there was a lot of traffic noise from the nearby main road. There was a fan in the room which helped!The staff at reception and in the bar were friendly and helpful.

Excellent food and very accommodatingThe restaurant food was amazing, they have recently changed their chef and the quality of the food was fresh and well cooked. I have a wheat allergy and they couldn't have been more helpful. The waiting staff in the restuarant where second to none. The atmoshpere, swimming pool and the fact that it is in a beautiful setting adds to the relaxing time we spent there. One small negative and that is the room was rather small and needs updating, especially the bathroom.We are DEFINATELY going to stay again, but will book into one of the executive rooms.

very nice hotel very nice hotel with landscaped garden, a bit outside town and way not so straight-forward to find despite sign-posted, noise from the near-by A14 is tolerable, room 42 is a under the roof and a bit small but quite cosy

Stow cum Quy Best WesternHad an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Used the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and my husband used the gym which was good. It was the use of these facilities that made it value for money. Didnt eat here so cant comment. Was slightly miffed when some people arrived on the Saturday late afternoon and managed to negotiate a better rate than we paid, we only booked the day before. Room was small but clean but we were on the top floor so the stairs added to keeping us fit. Would stay here again.

Good Room, Good Food, Good VenueMy wife and I only stayed for 1 night but the room was very comfortable. We stayed in a separate building from the main hotel and the rooms was large and well kept. We only had bar food but it was very good. All the staff were very friendly. We had a very pleasant stay and would be more than happy to return.

Great weekend breakStayed at the Quy Mill whilst on a visit to cambridge for the weekend. Easy to get in and out of Cambridge as the convenient Park and Ride is only a 5-10 min drive from the hotel.Hotel is set in lovely grounds, away from the main road. Great inn doing good food, we enjoyed the lamb and sea bass for our evening meal.Room was clean and even though we had one of the smaller rooms there was ample space for the two of us.Use of the spa facilities is a great plus too - especially when the weather is wet!Overall a great stay!

restaurantWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the only downside was that although the food we had was superb there was very little choice for vegetarians. When we had our breakfast on the first day we weren't compensated for the lack of vegetarian option, so ended with very little on the plate. On the second day we pointed out that although we were still paying the full price we got far less than people who ate meat, consequently we got an extra poached egg and some beans. This may sound petty but a hotel of this quality with such good food surely should be able to come up with some sort of vegetarian option!!

LOVED this hotel! We stayed in a four poster room, which was really beautiful - very comfy bed, and lovely and quiet. The only downside was that the whirlpool didn't work on the bath.The location of this hotel is so perfect - down a winding country lane, but right next to the A14, so perfect for getting to places quickly.We would definitely stay here again, and would hope to make use of all the facilities next time (pool, sauna, etc).

BEst Western, not a normal one for me but very impressedThe hotel was set just off the A14 and was very easy to get to but still provided a nice quiet location. Lovely hotel layout and quiet location made for a very pleasant stay. Good car parking facilities and the health club looked lovely (but no time for me to try unfortunately). Staff were very helpful and polite. Excellent.

Relaxing stayWe really enjoyed our stay, our room was really lovely with a four poster bed and jacuzzi bath, we also had a private patio area which we enjoyed very much. The restaurant meal was the only thing that let the experience down but was rectified to our satisfaction by polte staff. We enjoyed a swim and sauna in the leisure complex and on the whole would visit again, Despite being near a main road, the traffic was not at all noticable, would recommend, also handy for the park and ride for Cambridge.

Short Break stay near CambridgeThe welcome was warm and helpful, the room delightfully well appointed and quiet. The food in the restaurant was very good indeed and the staff extremely cheerful and helpful. A big plus was the pool and spa area and another plus was the fact that the hotel was no more than 5 minutes drive from the Park and Ride to get into Cambridge. The hotel was also close to Newmarket.

Typical Best WesternWhich is no bad thing. As a motel does the job adequately. Large rooms, large bed, ensuite. Clean facilities. Good value booked online with breakfast included.

Noisy room 103Room 103 must be located next to a laundry room as I was kept awake during the night by the noise of washing machine on spin cycle. Apart from that the hotel is nice and leisure facilities are good.

Lovely HideawayThe hotel is hidden away from the entrance to Cambridge and is a great country retreat. It is easy to get into Cambridge via the park and ride and its also a nice place to stay and just relax in the Sauna, Jacuzzi or swimming pool. The staff looked after us well and made sure we had all we needed. The breakfast was the only thing that let it down but not the end of the world!

We were thankful that our room was on the far side of the hotel complex, away from the A14 as, being light sleepers, our stay would have been much less enjoyable if we had been in a room facing this very busy dual carriageway. Made use of excellent pool facilities and found hotel facilities in general to be of a high standard. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, finding the hotel's location ideal for our planned exploration of Cambridge and visits to National Trust properties. One slight blip was when we were presented with the bill - we had booked through Late Rooms on a rate to include breakfast but bill had this as an addition. As soon as I showed a copy of the booking, the error was rectified.

Great place to stay for popping into CambridgeWe were impressed by our one night's stay and will book again. We were picking our son up from university and enjoyed being just outside Cambridge, on the edge of fen and away from the hustle and bustle. We opted for a room with a spa bath - great fun. Furnishings a bit dated perhaps - less contemporary than a smart hotel in Cambridge we have used in the past - but clean and comfortable. Mattress on the bed very good. I enjoyed the small pool in the health club and the garden was pleasant to walk in despite the background noise from vehicles on the A14- but it did not worry us. We only took breakfast in the hotel - good quality and very well presented - and staff throughout our stay were friendly and professional.

A hidden delightA beautiful old hotel with new extensions, we stayed in the original building in a four poster room, it was very traditional and clean with a beautiful big bathroom with jacuzi bath. We stayed for an evening meal with friends and the food and service were excellent, even when we questioned something on the menu the chef sent samples to explain! Breakfast on the first morning was efficient and good, on the second day I don't know what happened but the service was a little slow, but eventually when it came was to a good standard, however, not too keen on the buffet table I went to get some fresh fruit when I noticed some children messing with the danish pastries and fresh fruit so gave it a miss! Not sure what can be done there, is it the hotel responsibility or should the parents have more control of their children? The gym was well equipped and clean with a lovely pool area, although the loungers were a little uncomfortable being woodern and having no cushions!All in all a very nice hotel with a good service and nice food, would recommend this hotel but would book through late rooms as the hotel wouldn't match the prices quoted and we saved a substanial amount.

A hotel full of character and worth a visitThe hotel was too close to the A14 with its constant flow of traffic to make it a peaceful retreat. But inside the walls the setting was enchanting, the welcome friendly, the room spacious and comfortable and the food and service excellent. I would go back, and the next time I will try out the health facility and pool.

Great short breakThe room was lovely - very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was fantastic.One minor point - the entrance to the hotel road was not easy to find if not arriving from the main road and for some reason the post code was not on our Satnav.I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
