The Ptarmigan Inn is located at the base of the Mount Werner/Steamboat Ski area, a 100% smoke-free full service hotel, offering Sportstalker Ski Shop, complimentary valet ski storage, outdoor heated pool, hot tub and sauna. With in-room refrigerators, coffee makers, remote color cable televisions with VCRs and high speed Internet access. The Snowbird Restaurant and Lounge, located slope side in the hotel, allows you to dine while you watch the skiers go by. Apr?s ski in our lounge with daily happy hour. In summer, over 40 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails begin out your back door. The Silver Bullet Gondola will whisk you to the top of the mountain in the summer or winter. Pool closed from September 14 - November 26. Amenities include outdoor pool and hot tub, sauna, during the summer and the fall, on-site restaurant and lounge, ski shop, ski-in/ski-out, 24 hour front desk, free high speed internet access, wireless access in lobby, computer terminal w/internet access in lobby. The Snowbird Restaurant, located slope side at the Ptarmigan Inn, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and an Apr?s Ski Happy Hour during ski season only. Our friendly professional staff uses the finest ingredients available to prepare innovative contemporary cuisine.For breakfast, served from 7:00 am till 11:00 am, our chef will prepare you one of our breakfast specialties served with fresh fruit. Be sure to try the Santa Fe Hash or the Eggs Monterey. We also have more traditional fare like eggs or an omelette served with breakfast potatoes, toast and jelly, and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham. If hotcakes or waffles are more your flavor for breakfast be sure to check out the Breads and Batter section of the breakfast menu. The Steamboat Toast is a favorite, or try the Powdercakes to get you started on those powder mornings.

Although we only stayed one night, we found the Ptarmigon Inn to be a very nice place to rest. The location was easy to reach, very quiet and very clean. What was most surpising was the incredible service we received from the staff. They were very polite, helpful with any questions and went beyond what was expected to ensure that our stay was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. It will be our first choice on our next visit.

The Ptarmigan was a very nice hotel. Location, is one of its best quality. The room and bathroom we had was very clean which was very important to me. If you are looking for a modern, state of the art hotel this is not for you. If you want a great location, clean, food is great and a good nights sleep after sking all day.... then this is the place for you! The staff is wonderful as well.

The hotel is located in a great area, great views of the mountains and very peaceful this time of the year. Staff very accomidating. Within 5 minutes of the downtown which had great restaraunts and shopping. The scenery was just beautiful this time of the year (October).

The Ptarmigan Inn was very outdated. They put us in a basement room with a view of a retaining wall not enjoyable at all.

This hotel is well managed and nicely maintained. The staff members were efficient, helpful and accommodating. We both commented on how comfortable the king bed was - we slept like rocks. The location is right on the ski hill and is a short stroll to the main ski village/plaza at Steamboat.

Hotel was great for the money, however the cleaning staff could have done a better job. It is right in the center of town close to lots of fun things for the family to do.

The Ptarmigan Inn gave us a nice place to stay that was well within our budget. The location near the slopes was wonderfully scenic and would have been very convenient for skiing in the winter. Our room was very small and a bit run down, but was quite adequate and comfortable given the extremely reasonable price we paid.

This was not the cleanest hotel that we have stayed in but I believe that could be because of the age of the hotel and that it just might need to be remodeled and updated. The pool and pool area was well kept and clean although after a long day of shopping and playing it would have been nice if the pool and hot tub would have stayed open a little later than 10:00 p.m. What the hotel lacked in cleanliness and updates it made up for with an extremely helpful staff from all around the Untied States.

The staff was really off the charts. It was the perfect inn and we enjoyed our stay emensely. If there was any down side, the restaurant/bar were closed, but it really did not detract from the Inn. I would recommend to my best friends.
