50th Birthday CelebrationThis was a gift for my wifes 50th Birthday and we had an excellent stay. Its a very nice clean Hotel and all the staff were very efficient, courteus and polite. The only small critisism is we had Breakfast in the room and it wasn't very hot but it does have to brought up 4 floors from the kitchen so maybe a type of heated trolley may help, other than that everything excellent thankyou.

2 Jan to 4 Jan 09, room was clean and comfortable. For some reason we were booked into a disabled room which was not an issue but we managed to accidently set off the call alarm in the bathroom. After 1 hour, no one arrived to investigate and we reported the problem to reception, the alarm had been turned off on our return to the room later that night. Only other problem was the very noisy air con and heating system (room 1211)we even removed the card to stop the electricity into the room however it kept rumbling on every 2 hours during the night. I did report this to reception on check out. Please be aware that parking at the hotel is £7 per day, I do think a reduction should be given to guests at the hotel. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Could do BetterThis is not the first time that I've stayed at this hotel, but it is the first time the booking was done through Laterooms. It is let down by two things:1. The rooms are too hot. In summer the ventilation is poor, there is no airconditioning and no fans. In winter, the rooms are overheated due to a very large pipe that runs through every room to carry hot water to the radiators. Although the radiator can be turned off, the pipe cannot.2. The wireless internet access only works if the room is close to reception and then it sometimes fails there too.I actually stopped using this hotel because of the above reasons and only returned this time because my customer likes it.

Very pleasant stayI liked the hotel and the people working there very much especially after I was provided with a back view room on my request as I am a very bad sleeper. Eventually I had a good sleep and a shiny mood. The food (breakfast) was really good, and the choice was wider in comparison with English breakfasts in other hotels of this ratings. BUT coffee was as bad as elsewhere in the UK unless you take it outside the hotel.

Good but better service neededNice room, beautiful decor and outstanding location made this a good stay and ideal for our purposes. Unfortunately the bar staff were inefficient and unfriendly, the room wasn't serviced, and the management's response when we said that we hadn't had our sheets or towels changed was to shrug. Apart from the service and these issues we enjoyed our stay and would probably give it another go, but they need to work on certain things....

The room was small and very hot with no temperature control reception had run out of fans to give everyone. The room cooled down enough to sleep at around 3.30 am.

Hotel was OK but rooms were shabby round the edges. I asked to be moved once because my room was tiny and had no desk chair and i needed to work. I got moved to another larger room but this was still shabby round the edges. There was a large gap under the door (looking at other reviews this seems common) which worked well for me because it enabled a draft from the window to cool the otherwise warm room and fortunately my corridor was quiet so the noise was no issue. A great location for the station, and walkable into Chester town. The food at their 5 star restaurant was good but overpriced, with so many other places to eat locally i would eat out next time (the Thai down the road was amazing!)

As poor as I rememberStayed at teh Westminster about 6 or 7 years ago and it was so bad I haven't been back since. Impressed by pictures of an apparent refurbishment, I booked a double room for the not exactly cheap price of £109. We were given room 120 which has definitely not been refurbished for some considerable time. It consisted of a room that was about 10ft by 8 ft and which barely had room for a double bed. There was about a foot of space either side of the bed and this was made worse by the fact that the bathroom was so small it had no room for the sink which was in the bedroom and further added to the lack of space. The TV was an old 14 inch portable sitting on a wall bracket next to the bathroom door. To add insult to injury the room was possibly the hottest I have ever stayed in and the traffic noise was horrendous. At breakfast the table was less than clean and the only member of staff we saw when we arrived barely grunted at us as she carried on clearing a table. When you can stay in budget hotels for half the price and with many times the quality there is no reason to stay in what I can only describe as a disgrace to the Best Western brand. I certainly won't be fooled next time!

Pure Luxury.We had just left the most appaling accommodation, so stepping into The Queens was like stepping into heaven. From arriving, until leaving we were treated with courtesy and respect. The room was fantastic; clean, spacious and with everything we could possibly need. Breakfast, like everything else was top class and with the outlook onto the roman garden what more could we ask for. Well recommended, I would go back anytime.

Great value for moneyI was delighted to be staying in what appeared to be an upgraded room (109) which was big, and beautifully decorated. Plush furnishings and very nice bay window to the front.I have stayed here before and stayed in a very small room which was OK. This was great. Normal efficient staff complete the picture. Very happy.

Lovely hotel, very modern and clean. The food and service was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Have stayed here twice now and would definatly stay again when in Chester!

Shower IssueOnly complaint would be the shower. This only had one temperature ie boiling hot and it dribbled. I had to abandon shower experience and take the bath option.

Girls weekend in ChesterWe were upgraded to a Queen suite free of charge and without asking! Good value for money. Our only criticism would be that the room was very hot, there is no air con and the windows hardly opened at all. We did ask reception for a fan, they said someone might bring one up but they never did. They allowed us to leave our car in the carpark a few extra hours beyond the paid for 24hrs at no extra cost.
