Falkirk Park HotelGood location for the city. Nice big Park over the road really nice rooms. Close to the Falkirk Wheel and 40 mins from Glasgow or Edinburgh

Our room was not ready for occupation on arrival which was discovered after being given the key and directed to our room on the third floor; an apology from reception and a twenty minute wait before it was ready. Next day, when our car was blocked in the car park, I asked the receptionist for assistance who replied that I should take the car registration numbers, find the owners and ask for the cars to be moved!! Fortunately, the beer delivery van reversed out of the car park and allowed the departure of the three cars in the exit queue.... problem solved!Both the restaurant and bar staff were friendly and efficient, the room was spacious, clean and well appoointed. Would we stay at the Park again - only if we couldn't find a better deal elsewhere!

Reception staff very friendly . Breakfast was cold sent it back and it was still cold when they brought it back out so only had Coffee & Toast For Breakfast. {expensive Breakfast}

OK for a one night stay

I ordered from reception at time of check in an early breakfast in room at 6.15am. It did not arrive and I had to wait until the 7am the normal time to get mine. This made me late all day by at least one hour. I had room 40 next to the lift very noisy. The food in evening is nothing special well if you like chips it is! Very unimaginative. Service was good at breakfast served by Dot and the night porter Bill is also a great guy. The rest of the staff do not really speak so hard to judge, not as freindly a hotel as I would have expected for £65/night. Outside the smoking facilities are none existent the steps leading to the front door have a small tread which when icey are lethal and the carpark has lots of rubbish in it like old fuses and other electrical fittings. The tarmac is also all broken up with potholes. I thought the place looked shabby and run down and very dated circa 1970s. Overall it is definately not worth the money you would be better staying in a b&b and eating out. Pity really as it could be so much better easily. I noticed in the evening not many people ate in and certainly whilst i was there no locals did either. Plus points are that it is easy to find ,quick check-in/out good TV in room and common area and good access to the roads network for Glasgow and Edinbourgh.

The inside of the hotel was very clean it was the external standard that let them down, litter on the car park. I was very disappointed to have to request that a tray charge was removed from my bill. I arrived after 10 pm at the hotel and the resturant and bar food service had closed so I had no option other than to order a sandwich on room service only to be charged £3.50 on top of the cost for the food. This was removed however it should never have been there.

The hotel is currently under refurbishment, the reception, bar and restaurant areas look very smart. I had a smoking room, which had not been refurbished, but will be done shortly, so at the moment it looks a little tired, if it is done to the same standard as the communal areas, then I imagine the rooms will be very pleasant.The menu is very appealing, but sadly the Fishcakes I ordered for a starter were more like potato cakes, I'm not convinced there was any fish in them and they were a bit too uniform to have been homemade, although I could be wrong. I ordered pasta which was fine. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant staff were very attentive. I ordered a continental breakfast in my room the following morning and was served a bowl of cornflakes and a yoghurt! I complained and to be fair within 10 minutes, a pile of toast, croissants, preserves and fruit were delivered to my room. Overall not a bad place to stay and probably one of the better hotels in the area.

We have stayed in numerous hotels all over the world but have yet to match the service given by Peter the manager and David the barman. We were given advice on where to eat, (we thought the hotel food was not to our standard) and Peter booked the restaurants and the taxis for us. All we had to do was turn up. The restaurants were very good. Peter printed a map for us from the computer to get into Stirling, which was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble.

This hotel has recently changed hands (yet again). Renovations have started in bedroom corridoors but not yet in the rooms (which are tired, with out of date decor). I found it unacceptable to be charged an average overnight stay rate, when for example, bed coverings had holes and needed repair! I have stayed here a lot for both business and leisure as it is close to the city centre, but in this condition, charging this type of price, it is worth looking elsewhere.
