Great accomodation, quiet rural surroundings. Regarding dinner, the food was of excellent quality and well presented but the portions were disappointingly small and to my mind insufficient.

We wanted a hotel that we could take our dog to so we gave it a go, we were very pleased with the reception we were given, everyone we came into contact with was very friendly & professional. There was an issue with hot water pressure but all in all we had a fantastic stay.

A Pleasant StayVery pleased with Hotel - especially its setting. The Dinning room views out to courtyard with swifts and swallows were very pleasant and decided us on using the dinning room each evening of our stay. Only slight puzzle was a card in our room that proclaimed free broadband access that the receptionist did not know about.(note to Hotel - the plug in room 5 is missing its rubber seal - kept forgetting to mention it when there)

disorganised or what?Ox pasture hall is ideal for a peaceful escape.Set in stunning countryside but only a few miles from Scarborough. We were disappointed, that during our stay, the standard of service failed to live up to the promise of the hotel. I think a shortage of staff was probably the main reason and although those present were helpful and courteous, there were some awful lapses in organisation, principally at meal times. We booked bed and breakfast, but decided to eat in house on the first evening. The hotel did not have a table d'hote menu, {except at lunchtime} only a la carte. At 6.15pm there were no menus available and when they arrived at 6.25, the manager kindly advised us that we could choose from the lunchtime table d' hote menu, if we were seated by 6.30.Since there were no notices, neither in the hotel nor on the menus. informing us of this offer and we had previously booked our table, with him personally, for 7.30, this seemed a little bizarre, if not pointless. We went to the dining room at 7.30 and both ordered ribeye steak with accompanying salad. The steak was fantastic and cooked exactly as requested, but the salads never arrived.Breakfast next morning was brilliant, we were first in the dining room and the service was first class and the food excellent quality, but the following morning, with only four tables occupied, including ourselves, we waited half an hour for the coffee to arrive, followed ten minutes later by breakfast. On the third morning, not only did we wait a similar time for both coffee and breakfast, but guests who came in ten minutes after us, were served immediately, whilst we waited.Again the quality of the food was first class, but for the second time, not everything which was ordered arrived. Guests at a nearby table shared a similar fate but chose to complain most loudly and in no uncertain terms, thereby delaying our breakfast a further ten minutes. These are organisational issues, quite easily addresed and because I woul

BoltonAn excellent hotel, friendly and professional staff. The only criticism was that the courtyard rooms were noisy-you could hear every word spoken in the ajoining rooms.

Great romantic getawayOnly a few miles from the hustle and bustle of the busy seaside town of Scarborough, Ox Pasture Hall could be a million miles from anywhere. It is a lovely small hotel with lovely rooms in a very tranquil setting. Our room was well appointed with a four poster bed and modern bathroom. Our only complaint was the water pressure was almost none existant for the bath and shower. (room 5) took about 40mins to get 6 inches of water in the bath, and it seemed that the shower would not work at all if people in the next room were using theirs. However the rest of our experience was fantastic. Very clean, the staff were great, very pleasant and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and both agree it was one of the best meals ever. Definatley reccomend it, especially for a romantic break.

Got free upgrade into main house and spacious room. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Had problem with hot water but staff soon dealt with it. Hotel in beautiful location and very peaceful but a good base for all directions. Meals were excellent and would thoroughly recommend it to my friends.

Usual High QualityI stay here on every visit to the area as I know that I'll receive excellent service in very pleasant surroundings. On this visit they were obviously short of staff but that didn't stop them from delivering the best customer service possible.

great hotel but cottage rooms can be very noisy because walls are just plaster board, main house rooms are excellent, staff very helpful and apart from noise in room which they say will be sorted after summer we had a wonderful stay with excellent views over moors.

The room was a delux room but some of the littly touch's that we expected were not supplied but that didn't take anything away from the stay as it was still a relaxing break.

Lovely country hotel We really enjoyed our stay here in April-it was better than expected but the gorgeous weather helped. Got a free room upgrade and thought the breakfast surroundings were more like 5 star. Ideal for our golden retriever who had lovely walks in the fields and lanes around the hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Sound-proofing between rooms could be better though. All in all thoroughly recommended if you want somewhere peaceful, pretty, and convenient for the North Yorkshire moors and coast-Filey was an unexpected little gem well worth a visit.

We loved it!We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is in a beautiful setting with walks on your door step and the lovely Scarborough just down the road. It has been renovated to a high standard with a very nice dining room. The food is great, I had the one veggy option and it was cooked to perfection, as was the chicken. The staff were very friendly but not too pushy, we'd definitely go again.

Booking a good hotel with your pet dog.I had a spare couple of days and went online to book a good hotel at very short notice, which would also accommodate our dog which can sometimes be difficult. The hotel chosen couldn't have been better. The room was excellent, the food the same but the outstanding thing was how accomodating the staff where in ensuring you needed for nothing. They were all, from the Manager to the bar staff, very pleasant ALL of the time and not when it suited. They made us and our dog in particular feel very welcome indeed.

ok oxcharming hotel-setting superb,3 miles from town ;but felt like deepest countryside.Service at all levels was terrific and helpful-this whilst they were coping with a large wedding party.Food (in restaurant) was quality produce served well. This also applied to an excellent breakfast. Our room was very comfy-needed on a cold and miserable day-very comfortable beds. The only negatives? There was inevitable noise from wedding disco and noise \"bleed\" through adjoining room via thin walls... However , this did not spoil a very pleasant stay. We will return.
