Date of Stay:

We stayed in the hotel for the weekend for a nearby competition. The hotel was priced right for our short stay and included breakfast-waffles were great! Hotel was up to date and most of the staff was very nice all except the night desk clerk. A little too arrogant for me. My main complaint was I asked for a non-smoking room which we got, but the 2nd floor reeked of cigarette smoke. It smell so bad my kids covered their mouths when walking down the hall. Make sure you ask for a non-smoking room AND floor!!!!!!!

This is the first time that I found that a hotel did not meet my expectations. Hotel was clean but very dated. This should only be a 2 star.

stayed for three nights, hotel was clean, staff was extremely helpful, took the time to explain the t train system and how to get around on it. free breakfast every morning, just an all around pleasant experience. we were visiting colleges in the area and the hotel was in a central location.. one tip if at all possible park the car and take the train wherever you need to go!!

Good stay. We got stuck with a smokers room the first night but the hotel was able to accomodate us for the rest of our stay in a non-smoking room at no additional charge. Complimentary breakfast every morning was great. Hotel restaurant had good meals at decent prices.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful in explaining the public transit system to me. Both ice machines were broken and the breakfast area was poorly set up. As previously mentioned, the breakfast area needs to be set up in a different way to prevent the lines that formed. Overall though it was a great hotel and I had a good experience there.

Although the hotel is a little to the north (which may be inconvenient if you have your meetings in south boston) it is at easy access to I-93 and has all the amenities that a business traveller would like and a coordial staff.

The price is relatively good, compared with living in Boston downtown. The room is good, however, I am not satisfied with the bath room. The sink is not good for draining water. Neither is the bathtub.

Location. It is old, and the breakfast is poor, the dinner was also poor quality and limited. This hotel is over rated at 2 1/2 stars. It is more of a one star hotel.

hotel was located in a very central location - close to boston, vermont, new hampshire, and maine - and close to all major highways, with plenty of free parking hotel was clean and pleasant and located in an area with gas station, fast food, and some restaurants - and had computer/internet access (if you need to check in for flights and print boarding passes or check e-mails) in the lobby and free (i believe) internet access in the rooms hotel has great breakfast - especially their waffles hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful

This hotel had a weight/exercise room that looked inviting. The hotel was in only fair condition. Room was very tired. This hotel was inexpensive and very basic. But it was convenient and in a good neighborhood.

The Best Western New Englander was nice. We stayed four nights while in town for a trade show in Boston. It was a quick and easy commute to the city, with gas stations and a restaurant/pub right next door. The continental breakfast was nice too, decent options. Didn't have the opportunity to visit the pool or fitness center. The Business Center left a bit to be desired though. Two computers, only one was hooked up to the printer and neither had Microsoft Word. Aside from that, my room was clean and the staff was pleasant. Our host at check in had some kickin bad breath though.

Easy to find. Was woken up two days in a row by housekeepers attempting to clean the room. Right off the interstate, fully equipped room, not the best value for the quality.

We visited our daughter in college. The hotel was very in a good location. Not too far from the "T" station. We drove ourselves (about 10 minutes) to the Wellinton Station, and parked for 3.50 a day and you can jump right onto the "T". Easy access to downtown Boston. The hotel was clean and the people were very friendly. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but we liked it and would stay again. The restaurant attached to the hotel was very good, and the sports bar was fun. We happened to be there when the Sox were playing, it got a liitle crowded, but it was fun to enjoy the game with the locals. The breakfast was not huge, but if you just want a little something in the morning it was perfect. We did not swim, but the pool looked good as well.

At only 100.00 per night, the hotel was very good for the price we paid overall. The housekeeping wasn't that great, but they had a restaurant and indoor pool onsight, along with a shuttle to the Anderson commueter station for free. It was gas-friendly for toursists going to Boston!

Cold room. The room was a bit small. When we first entered, it was very cold especially for a winter day. The service at the front desk was a tad bit slow. This was our second stay at the Best Western and I feel they have some small corks they could improve upon (i.e. a faster computer).

We booked a weekend to visit our daughter at college. When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation, having made a clerical error and booked for several previous nights. Thus, they had charged us for being "no-shows". They accomodated us for the weekend, but refused to refund us for the no-show charge, nor would they apply it to the days we were actually there. Although we tried repeatedly to talk with a manager, they could never produce one, nor would one contact us while we were staying there. In fact, their whole attitude was very blase and suspicious, and it became evident they were lying to us regarding the manager's whereabouts. We immediately disputed the charge with our credit card company. It has now been 5 months since this incident. Best Western tried once to call us a day after we checked out, but when we called back, we could again not talk with a manager to resolve this. They took a small, but potentially significant error on their part, and just blew off the whole thing, creating a story about how we had really booked 2 reservations, and neglected to cancel one. It has been frustrating! They recently issued us a credit of about one third what they owe us....very bizarre. Our credit card company has not helped in bringing this to a conclusion, but that is another story, too. I felt funny about this place the minute I checked in, when I received such a nonplussed response to my question about their resolving the reservation and subsequent charge. I would never, never go back. They seemed to have no clue to the idea of customer relations that is standard in this country, and they tried to make us seem like the ones at fault.

My son and I stayed at this hotel when we were visiting Boston area colleges. The location was very convenient and the complimentary internet was an added plus.

Excellent complimentary deluxe continental breakfast and great location! Bedding needs updating (comforters/sheets, etc). Overall, pretty good. Right off I 93 only 7 miles north of downtown Boston. Super free breakfast in the am with waffles, bagels, hard boiled eggs, cereals, etc. Rooms need better attention to detail. Cleaner carpets, new linens, etc.

We had spent the day driving through the White Mountains and enjoying the brilliant fall foliage. We were ready for a good meal and a comfortable bed. We were a bit disheartened to find that while we were on the 5th floor - the nearest ice machine was on the 4th floor - at the far end of a long, dim hallway. It was difficult to determine how to turn on the lights in the room as there was only one wall switch, and it only operated the overhead light in the entrance. We turned on all the individual lamps except the floor lamp, whose bulb was burned out. The room was clean and comfortable...except that it only offered double beds and we were accustomed to at least 2 queen-sized beds and there was a musty/moldy smell in the bathroom that air freshener was unable to eliminate. The pool area looked nice, but we were too tired to avail ourselves of the experience. I think this is a very nice hotel that is not quite meeting it's full potential. A bit more attention to detail would make a huge difference.
