Location. Unfriendly staff, outdated room, dirty pool, dirty breakfast area.
Date of Stay:
October, 2008
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel one night. It seemed to be an older hotel with all entrances from the outside. The room was just OK. Beds were not very comfortable and everything seemed old. The air conditioner/heater was so high on the wall we needed a chair to reach it. Coffee maker in the room didn't have instructions with it and we couldn't figure out how it worked. The continental breakfast was basically a loaf of white bread and some cereal, juice and coffee, so we went to a restaurant instead. Will not be staying here again if we're ever in the area.

Not a luxury hotel, but an excellent room for the low cost...only caveat: breakfast room gets a bit crowded.

Good location. Older facility. Adequate lodging for travelers.Definitely not a destination lodging site.

We stayed here on the 3rd day of our trip and even though there isn't alot to see in Mitchell we had just come from the Black Hills and needed a clean place to sleep. The pool states that it is heated but it was a little chilly for our 30 something bodies but our 16 year old jumped right in! It is a very easy location without a charge for our dog. The breakfast area was a little crowded, but we would stay there again if we get the chance.

The price for the room was great. The room was clean and we enjoyed the pool. Location close to freeway. The only negative part was the air conditor was very high on the wall and very nosiy. Would stay here again

Bed was comfortable. Too small bathroom area. We arrived and found our room. Rooms are all outside entrances. Bed was comfortable but bathroom area quite small. To get to the main office you had to walk outside to reach it. Fine in the summer months but a pain in the fall season when wind is up and temperature is down. The area in the office designated for breakfast seemed to be an afterthought. The motel boasts over 250 rooms but the area you eat breakfast in has only two table’s w/4 chairs a piece. We found ourselves along w/others having to stand or sit around a coffee table and hold our plates of food. No senses taking it back to the room as you have to go back into the elements to do this. The waffles, cereal and dough nuts were fine. The pool is outdoors; again great for summer use, bad for fall and winter season. If you can get past all of this the motel is located near many restaurants, and local business and tourist areas.

We had a leaking pipe under our sink and the mgr or woner told us to use the garbage can because there were no more rooms and the carpet was soaked, every time you went to use the bathroom you had to walk on soggy carpet. We called the mgr and not only did he come to see us and tell us to use the garbage can but he offered no towels, no rug nothing to soak up the wet and told us that in the morning when the office opened at 6:00am he would give us a 10% discount which meant he would have to give us money back. We waited until 7:00am for the office to open not only to get our money but to have breakfast and we could see a light on in there but no one would open the door. He told us that he was full for the night and we could not get another room. This was not a very nice place to be or to pay that kind of money for a wet room and then do NOTHING about it . We will never stay at that motel again, not very nice to their guests. I could have understood if it was a small motel but it was not and kept poorly. We could not believe that the management left us hanging like that because there were 6 people in our group and we all got treated the same. We had to eat breakfast down the road when they offered it at the motel but no one would open the door so we could even get a cup of coffee. We travel to So. Dakota and through Mitchell and will never stay at their motel again. We feel they owe us something

dirty, smelly and loud. The all time worst experience EVER in a hotel! couldn't get out of there fast enough the next morning. Didn't take our shoes off and slept in our clothes for fear of bed bugs. Cheap and rotten. Wouldn't NOT RECOMMEND this dive, unless perhaps you're a drug dealer - it would be perfect!

There was a space under the door, which opened to the outside, I did not find this appealing. The room was adaquate, but nothing more. The sheets were very thin and the bedspread old. The people working the desk were not friendly.

Our room had the distinctive odor of cat urine. We reported this to the motel desk person. She made excuses then gave us another room. That room smelled worse of cat urine. I can not recommend this hotel.

Close to the college. Only one ice machine in the whole place. Decent enough place for an economy type stay. Expect no frills though.

March 07 stayed one night, newly remodeled rooms w/acoustical tile so quiet. Country Kitchen next door. Easy on-off interstate. Great Rate.

Room was quite clean. Not much. Breakfast area in lobby is quite small. This motel was completely adequate for our needs.
Date of Stay:

Very clean. Outside appearance is unpleasant, Also the Breakfast area was very small. The hotel had a very unpleasant outward appearance. However from inside the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Everything was functional and the room was very spacious and good. The breakfast was ok; the dining area has very less space and gets crammed if there are more people. Overall for the price you pay the hotel is very good. If they can improve the outward appearance it would be a lot better.

"Easy on/off, recently remodeled including new acoustical tile and bathrooms. Very nice for the price and close to necessities"

Very clean and spacious room. Outside pool no whirlpool. Very easy to find, plenty of parking, very clean and spacious room.

The pool was not open because of repairs. One of the reasons why we decided to stay in the town otherwise we would have drove back home. Friendly when I called to make sure I had the right kind of bed, but when we checked in and told us that the pool was not working, they were not very friendly. They did not seem to care, although, he said he was sorry. They should have said something when I called in the night before. The room was just average, but I expected it to be since it was a 2 star.

"I was a little skeptical when we pulled up and saw the building. The desk staff was great. The rooms were extremely clean, and you couldn't hear the people next to you at all. This was the best place we stayed on our week long trip to Yellowstone. "
