Dont eat in the Restaurant on a Saturday evening!!We arrived at approx 7pm on a Saturday evening for an overnight stay. Reception was empty. I asked a passing member of staff if we could check in...she did not stop...but ran past saying , "shes busy right now.."Not a good start. We booked a table for dinner at 8.15pm. Having been seated and presented with a menu/wine list we ordered drinks. At 8.35, I asked the young woamn why our drinks had not arrived and why no food order had been taken. Her response, "I was busy with other orders"Eventually drinks were brought and food order taken. I did mention that if the food took so long and was unacceptable, I would not settle the bill. Another wait for a la carte, and we began to eat. My side order of potatoes came 10 minutes after the main. The potatoes were hard and practically inedible. My partner also ordered a potato side which was burnt and hard..no mean feat. The room itself was adequate, although two lightbulbs needed replacing. I could not bear to think the response asking to have them replaced would have met with. To be fair we asked on Sunday morning for an ironing board and iron and this was brought along in good time. The staff in the restaurant were young and hurried off their feet. A table to the right of us also asked to see the Manager who was nowhere to be seen.Disappointing for a 160.00 a night stay (inc food). Will not be going back.

Excellent evening menu againThe restaurant once again was the highlight of our stay with the menu always having something you don,t see elsewhere coupled with excellent presentation and flavour.Breakfast rather an overpriced buffet

Room clean - bed fantastic. Didn't use any other part of hotel, other than a quick dring in the bar, but had a nosey around and all seemed very nice.

Room was much smaller than expected, not spacious as described. No mini-bar. Smelt musty when we first entered, needed to open window and air the room out. Bed was very comfortable.

Mosborough Hall hotelBy Far one of the best 3* hotels I have stayed in the room was fantastic very spacious and comfortable, the food in the bar was excellent with fantastic service all hotel staff could not do anymore and bent over backwards to make the stay enjoyable. The only thing that let the hotel down was no leisure facilities as a keen member of the gym I need activity to unwind after a 3-4 hour drive. I would rate this hotel a 4*.

Could have tried harderMosborough Hotel was clean & efficient, if you stay in the new extension it lack imagination on its decor plus the walls are very thin which is a problem at weekends when they have weddings etc with noisy guests. Expensive for what it offered.

Very good standards operating throughout the hotel. Reception was very efficient, rooms were comfortable and clean, the new bar area was impressive with good service at all times and the piece de resistance was the dining room and the food it served which was superb.

Carpet had a large mark across it (208) and things looked like they needed a coat of paint.

Booked two stays through laterooms but both times the hotel did not have the reservation although honoured the rate. Rooms nice with 3 star amenities and reasonable views. Housekeeping need to close the bathroom door behind them and look in the corner behind the door ! Food options good with pricey 'brasserie' or lounge menu. Staff can be non attentive and difficult to find, though pleasant and willing to please.Good selection of wines by the glass but some staff training needed - one couldn't find the merlot in the fridge !Breakfast finishes at 9am weekdays and we were obviously interrupting the staff breakfast when we came down at 8.45 and were largely left to our own devices and no plates cleared or more tea offered. However would go back

Nice homely atmosphere and really great cooked breakfast!! room was very small and shower/bath room needs to be modernised and bigger. Not bad for price.

We ate in the hotel restaurant on both Saturday lunch and Sunday dinner. Excellent menu which we all enjoyed.. However buffet breakfast on Sunday morning was rather poor. The cooked breakfast items were not hot, rather luke warm and poor choice. However the breakfast on Monday morning was not buffet style and was cooked to order, which was much better.
