While this hotel has a great pool, it was ruined by the kids (w/out adult supervision) and the lifeguards that allowed them to get away with absolutely ridiculous bad behavior. While one set of lifeguards let a bunch of 10 year old boys chuck beach balls at each other or whoever else came down the slide, the next set of lifeguards wouldn't even let me catch my 7-year old niece as she came off of the slide. Shame on the lifeguards (and shame on the irresponsible parents) As for the rest of the hotel, the front counter staff was rather unhelpful, but the hotel itself was clean, the rooms were nice and the view of the river was outstanding. If you want to stay here, just remember to keep an eye on your kids and hope for some better lifeguards.

Very friendly staff and accommodating.I locked my self out twice! And very comfortable beds, my special needs son loved the pool. The maids could have done a better dusting and polish job but otherwise it was ok. Iwas a former maid! So I know what needs to be done XD! Overall experience was fabulous despite us being very poor(I had to book a room, my son needed special tests he could only get in La Crosse). I will try to save money up and pay for all my sons(all 6),my mom and dad to come here next year, it was worth the stay. The beach and docks beautiful, made me wish I had a boyfriend, that was the romantic in the hotel the beach and docks. I'd recommend anyone to stay here. The pillows were fabulous for me as well and it was quiet at night that is nice. I never get quiet at night!

The hotel was very accommodating by allowing an early check in and adjoining rooms. Our kids loved the pool area and was spotless because they don't allow food. The restaurant service was very friendly and the prime rib special was delicious! The rooms were tired but we came for the pool!

Nice location, friendly service, the pool was pretty neat but the smoking room was very musty and as my daughter put it smelly. ( I lived in a house with smokers and it didn't smell like that.) The rooms could have used a little upgrading. The continental breakfast was fresh and had a lot of variety they also had an upgrade to breakfast if you chose. But really not needed.

Rooms are tired - showers don't work properly, sinks slant, funny mold (?) appearance on ceilings, funny odors - I switched rooms midstream - the 2nd was better. Staff was nice and accomodating, but BW needs to put some in this hotel.

It allowed us to bring our family in to use the water park. The motel was well kept. The view of the river from the back of the motel was great. It was quiet at night for sleeping.

We were expecting a view of the Mississippi River from our room and instead we had a view of the trailer park next door! The entire motel smelled like what I can only describe as snuff! The carpeting seemed sticky and the room was just dingy. The bed was NOT at all comfortable either! There was a fridge but no microwave in the room! I would never stay here again!

The rooms were large and beds were comfortable. Everything was very spaced out. We stayed at this hotel for a wedding which took place in the banquet room. Overall, a very accommodating hotel for this purpose. Nice outdoor area and indoor pool area.

The boilers didn't work in the motel so the air conditioning didn't work. It was over 90 degrees the day we were there and the rooms were stifling hot. The front desk was offering other guests 20% off their rooms or another motel to stay at but because we booked through Orbitz they couldn't do anything for us. I was not very happy. The manager finally called me and said she would give me $10.00 to use at the restaurant. Used that to get some cold eggs and french toast for breakfast. We should have been compensated more for the trouble I thought.

The location and the restaurant! The bed/pillows were not very comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located in a very beautiful area along the Mississippi River and city. It was quite well kept, offering the most appreciated conveniences of refrigerator, coffee maker, hair blower, ironing board etc. as well as a very pleasant water facility.

They did not clean our room for a 2 day stay & sent all of their staff home by 1pm before cleaning our room. The rug was filthy as well as the bathroom was substandard for a hotel. The entire hotel was extremely cold except for the room. They took the continental breakfast down an hour early & had no coffee for patrons for the holiday at all by thelobby. Imagine Dec 24-25th. Not much of a holiday atmosphere & the continental breakfast food was stale. They get a D- for the whole stay. Had to wait 2 hours to get an extra pillow, because mgr. had no key to get into housekeeping so we waited until late in afternoon. Part of the pool(the slide) was not open for a couple of hours with other guests voicing their frustation. Open alcohol was consumed all around the pool & in hot tub in a supposed family environment despite signs.

The Best Western Midway Riverfront in La Crosse, WI has a great location. But being woke up at 07:30 in the morning by maid service was not what I was looking for. The rooms are ok but not very sound proof. The continental breakfast did not offer much, have had better for a lot less money.

Very nice, cleaning staff. Great pool area. Rude staff at check-in. The hotel was clean, comfortable and my daughter loved the pool! At check-in, the staff was very impersonal and seemed as if we were bothering her.
