Two Nights - Two Persons - Linton Lodge.Everything was only ok with this hotel but with an outside temperature of 25C and no airconditioning the entire hotel was a bit too warm for comfort. Breakfast was only adequate, and for the price we paid (£138 per night) a better quality breakfast should have been provided.

OKOld and sprawling hotel, with lots of steps on way to room. Not special, but all was perfectly OK.

The hotel was fine and located near enough to the city. We mentioned that there was a light out over the sink. It wasn't repaired while we were at dinner. When we returned to the room after a night in another town - the light still was out. Other than that it was fine.

Tired hotelVery good value for money on a bank holiday getting a double for £60. Good location and good parking. Unfortunately the hotel just felt that it has 'given up'. The receptionist when we arrived was sour and miserable to the point of being rude. The room was OK in terms of size although the view of a brick wall wasn’t great but the room was just generally tired and not brilliantly clean. Little things like tissues on the floor by the bed and the hotel magazine being crumpled up just added up the sense of being in a room that wasn't greatly cared for. The breakfast food was OK ... although again no-one really seemed to care if there were no plates or if the food had run out ... which meant several trips to find someone before being able to eat. In summary, for £60 it was fine ... but having stayed in lots of Best Western's this one is not great and it would have been more disappointing had we booked it for something special rather than just a last minute somewhere to stay.

If only I recieved my wake up call as requestedI only have one criticism - I never recieved the wake up call I requested. This ruined my morning. Apart from that everything else was ok.

Excellent food - very good value.I had two evening meals, both of which were very nice. I ate them in the bar, which was very pleasant and informal. Although I was on my own, I felt very comfortable, and the service was very good.

Generally OK, efficient reception. Breakfast organisation needs looking at - just reasonably busy when I stayed but e.g. difficult to access some of the breakfast offerings owing to logjams at toaster & tea/coffee urns. LateRooms price made it reasonably priced for Oxford.

The room was clean enough, though there was some rubbish left under the bed from the previous occupant. What was most annoying was the lack of air-conditioning in the room. It made it very difficult to sleep comfortably, and when we opened the window, the noise from the morning traffic and coaches pulling up outside woke us very early. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.

Linton ReviewThe hotel is near the centre of Oxford and for us is ideally situated in quiet surroundings about 15 minutes brisk walk to the city. The rooms are adequate, but can be variable in size. The staff are always pleasant and helpfull. It is good value for money with the Late Rooms discount. A small niggle was that the in room tea making facilities were not cleaned and the biscuits were not replaced after we had used them in the first morning. We have used the hotel before and will probably use it again.

LOVELY STAYCheap, clean and close to city centre, what more could you ask for on a budget? Breakfast was also very yummy!

I was a bit anxious about our stay at the Linton after reading some feedback on here, but either things have dramatically improved or the feedback was unfair. I found some comments very misleading. We had a lovely stay at The Linton. I doubt you will be able to find such quality at such a low price in the centre of Oxford. The price and location attracted us to the hotel, within easy walking distance of Oxford and with free parking. The staff were incredibly helpful and curteous, dealing with all of our requests and accomodating all of our needs (which were numerous, having our baby with us). We found the hotel well appointed throughout, and were particularly happy with our room, which was large, quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. The room was easily large enough for a big double bed plus a travel cot and plenty of room to move around in too. The bathroom was particularly well maintained and everything was very clean.Breakfast was in the lovely Spires restaurant and was as good as any I have had in a hotel. Hot and cold food was available buffet style, and despite it being a busy bank holiday weekend, the food never ran out. The staff were again receptive to our needs, bringing us a highchair quickly for example.I would most definately stay at The Linton again on our next trip to Oxford. To be honest, I can't believe we got such attention and good quality in the centre of Oxford for the price we paid. Unbelievable value for money.

clean & friendly in a quiet location near enough to city centreThis hotel is good for budgets. It's on a quiet road in a very wealthy suburb. Its very clean and friendly. However, I wouldn't advise older people, people with back problems to stay here as the beds are not the most comfortable. The breakfast is good. Tip - I found that booking direct with hotel was £60 prpn without breakfast. Booking with laterooms.com was £60 prpn WITH breakfast. Extended continental breakfast means cereals/toast/fruit/yoghurts/bread rolls/small variety of english cheese/ham/jams/peanut butter/choc spread/eggs(all types)/bacon/sausages/baked beans plus tea/coffee/selection of fruit juices. This is served help yourself buffet style - so wait till they bring out fresh. This hotel is a short walk from city centre (20 mins) or a very short walk to bus stop to city centre (3/4 mins). Hotel is very near to the cherwell boat house where you can hire punts from (the nicest location for punting as you can go downstream to college parks near city centre where you can tie boat up get out and have a picnic or upstream to pub and beyond that quiet countryside). You can leave your luggage at reception after you've checked out to pick up later.
