We had a nasty moment when we arrived because no romm had been reserved for us. This was because we had cancelled the original booking and rebooked for a better room. The hotel had picked up the cancellation but not the rebooking. However, they found a nice room for us so all ended well. After that we enjoyed our stay.

Good location on seafront. Comfortable lounge,bar and dining room areas. Short walk into town ( 10 minutes).

Hotel was very clean, Staff very friendly and efficient, Food very nice. Only minor annoying little complaint was that we were in a room that was above an outside air conditioning unit or something of that nature and we had to suffer a irritating humming noise throughout our stay

Rooms small and compact. Service OK, but no internet access in rooms. Buffet breakfast average - can order freshly cooked food. Reception closes overnight and front door locked - not suitable for early departures. Some free parking in adjacent streets. Within walking distance of Arndale Centre and pier.

Lovely traditional hotel on the sea front, lots of lounges to relax in and about 5 - 10 minute walk into the town centre. Rooms lovely and clean. Breakfast delicous, you could have whatever you wanted, haddock, full English, Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, Continential .... we had the full English and it was faultless. Was a large number of retired people staying when we went.

At least one member of staff didn't seem able to understand some basic English - onduty late & no other staff arouund - didn't seem a good idea.

Good value at the Late Rooms discounted price and surprised to get a single night booking at a decent hotel for a Saturday night. No hotel parking but on-street fairly close.

Generally a pleasant experience, The only problem I had was that the plug socket which the TV was pugged into did not work.

Very dis-appointing -we had a so called 2 nights for one,but in our view overpriced.No hotel facilities except lounges/bar.Room was very dated-eg cork tiling on bathroom floor.Indeed look and feel of whole hotel very dated and tired.Definitely everything is at least 20 years old-urgently in need of make-over.Didn't like being corralled at first breakfast into sitting in a row of tables close to other guests-when plenty of other tables available. We had room at back of hotel-there were serious security issues-large flat roof outside the window, and window once opened was a dead ringer for someone to step inside!

Evening Bar food was poor as they had run out of Ham and cheese for my omlet ! Bar was shut at 10.45 ? they did re open but it was an effort. Breakfast was ok. I booked a non smoking room , but was upgraded to a smoking one !! ?? Reception staff were nice though.

apart from the maitre 'hotel in the dining room, she was splendid, we found the staff rather unsmiling and their grasp of english left a little to be desired. However, over all though, a satisfactory service.

Excellent hotel takes me back to the good old English hospitality. Very comfortable..a little tired in places but added to charm of the place. Did have trouble with WIfI in bedroom, which is disappointing, as would have liked to have done my computer work in room rather than in public area. Otherwise fantastic.

First room allocated was unsuitable so was given free upgrade to larger partial sea view room with no fuss or quibbling. Inland rooms overlook bins/scaffolding/garages so not recommended. Rooms ok but bathrooms very basic. Parking is free on street infront of hotel and no problem getting a space even in July. Cooked breakfast very good but buffet was limited. All staff encountered pleasant and professional. The room seemed clean but I think ingrained dust from old upholstery and carpets set off our allergies so probably so wouldn't stay again for this reason.
