The location was good and was billed as the only downtown hotel with a pool( although small). The hotel was undergoing unplanned renovations due to a guest mishap, so we did not get the king room we would have preferred. The friendliness and helpfulness of this quaint boutique hotel made up for everything. The beds and linens were so spectacular,I got the name before I left.I wish I had asked the staff more tour and eating suggestions instead of getting ideas from the internet. Their suggestions were always great. We enjoyed Isle of Palms beach also.

Nicely appointed room, great location. The pool is minuscule and in direct sun all day. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was big, clean and comfortable. No good TV channels or pay per view.

The facility was excellent. We wre pleasantly suprised, right down to the managers welcome reception and happy hour in the lounge area. service was great except for one of the receptionists throwing attitude when we registered. Fortunetly she was off duty the next morning and the two ladies on duty couldn"t have been nicer. Room was very clean, service was great. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Step out the front door and you're in the middle of historic Charleston. Walking was fantastic and the hotel was a great home base. More parking available than we expected even though some is half a block away. Very friendly staff at front counter. Room was clean but too cold even when we had the thermostat set to 90.

I must say that I was extremely disappointed with this hotel, and I will never stay there or any other Best Western hotel again. We went to Charleston for our honeymoon, and the only reason we stayed here was because of Airmiles. Very dark, dingy, and musty smelling. And at first the staff was nice, but then! We are from Canada so we didn't realize how many things would be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We left the hotel to find a restaurant and the front desk staff was openly making fun of us behind our back!!! When we came back they practically mocked us to our faces!!! I was absolutely furious. I wanted to leave but we weren't able to change hotels. Also, the "balcony" that was promised was connected to about three other rooms and the dining area and overlooked the parkade. Also, the tub in our room had a blocked drain and took forever to drain. We mentioned it to them several times, and even though they promised to get to it, they never did! So we had to showers with water up to our ankles. And the whole room and bathroom, the entire hotel except their puny lobby, felt dirty and old. The only plus it has was its location, right in the middle of the Historic District. I would never, never stay there again! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone...find somewhere else to stay! Honestly!

When we checked in on July 30th, they told us our room was ready. We went to our room first to check it out and when we got to the room the door was wide open because they were painting. There were wet paint signs and the smell of paint everywhere. We parked downstairs against a wall and I had to climb out the driver's side. We unloaded our luggage and went back to our room only to find a man in our room painting the door inside and out. We had specifically requested parking information prior to arrival because my husband drives a large truck (Ford F150) and were informed "no problem - you can park a Hummer in our lot". Well an hour and a half (spent mostly trying to get our vehicle parked) and four key cards later (because the first two didn't work) we checked out. The underground angled parking is NOT large vehicle friendly, what we saw of the room was horribly small for being a "deluxe double suite/room", the staff seemed un-impressed with their jobs and there was no concierge that we noticed. The check in/out dates on this review show one day - it is because this site doesn't allow check in/out dates to be the same. Although we incurred no charges for our very short stay, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Bathroom was great and very clean. Room was too crowded; I've paid less and had more comfortable rooms. Swimming pool area too shady.

My daughter and I stayed at this location and we would definitly stay there again. It was clean and spacious everything that you could possibly want to see is within walking distance. The people there are so nice and were very helpful with directions and where to go for entertainment and food. I would highly recommend the flea markets and all the little restaurants in that area and near the water----WHAT AN AWESOME VIEW! We look forward to going again and maybe with more people. Thank you again!

We enjoyed our stay; the front desk staff were just wonderful and so helpful. Our room was large and the bed comfortable. The bathroom needed a little update and had a couple mildew spots. The location is good; parking is free; the pool is nice. I'd stay here again and would recommend it.

The location was perfect and right in the middle of everything. The hotel was very nice, with excellent staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Let me say the staff was great. The hotel amentities were very good. The room my wife and I were assigned (room417) was smaller than many closets. The room was so tiny that it was diffecult to get between the bed and the TV. A person should be told before arrival that the room is a converted closet.

You cannot beat this location. We had a very enjoyable stay, and would definitely stay at the King Charles Inn again. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because of a lack of parking, and no continental breakfast option.

The hotel looked and smelled so clean. Very attractive place to stay. Parking was minimal and had to park across the street in the rain. I loved staying at this hotel and thought it was beautiful. I would love to stay there again if the opportunity arose. The people were very friendly and helpful. I do wish they had some food options late in the afternoon or at night instead of just breakfast but I am sure the restaurant competition is great and most don't find a need for it. It really was a beautiful place to stay.

Parking is free and the lot is surrounded by the hotel wings giving a feeling of security. The rugs need updating and the wallpaper should be changed but the sheets were clean and the folks working there couldn't have been more pleasant. Anyone on a tight budget will be pleased.

Its a great hotel for the money and convenience to the historic district of Charleston. It's the second time I've stayed and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness and convenience. The only slight downside is the smaller room sizes, but you should be spending more of your time taking in the history just outside your door anyway!

Location to downtown Charleston. The hotel is very old and needs a face lift.
