We were warmly welcomed after flight delays, and were upgraded from a single queen bed to two full size without asking for it. That was a good call on the part of A.J., the night desk clerk. It was difficult and confusing finding the hotel our first night. The pool was small, but it was never crowded, and was a great way to relax after a day in St. Augustine. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, especially the fresh red grapefruit sections. The hotel was extremely clean, and all staff were very pleasant and friendly. We were disappointed with the cleaning of the room the first day, but after that it was good.

I booked a last minute trip to Jacksonville, from New York City on the weekend of 4/18/09. Going through a online website, wasn't sure what I was going to get. Everything was perfect, including this choice of hotel. The pool is a decent size, clean and well kept. The continental breakfast could be a tad bit better in choice, but far exceeded my expectations for the money I got the room for. There is a Dave & Buster's right down the street, a 5 minute walk. I-95 is right there too, as well as Interstate 115, 90 and 202. You are near a Super Wal-Mart, which is open 24 hours. The best part is that I was able to go into Savannah, Georgia and down to St. Augustine, not being far from the hotel. The rooms are quiet, clean and safe. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.

The staff was friendly, but the perks ended there. The rooms are technically non-smoking, but the cigarette smell from the other room(s), as well as the noise of presumably their fire alarms, wafted into ours, which made for a terrible first impression. I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke, so I could feel a headache coming on. That, plus the poor circulation of our room (as well as of the elevators -- chlorine, feet, etc.) compounded the overall nasty feeling during our entire stay. The bed (and room) was clean and the selection of TV channels was nice. The continental breakfast had a decent selection for a low- to mid-valued hotel, but the quality of the food left something to be desired. I probably would not come to this hotel again due to the smells and poor ventilation.

A faulty map link landed us in this terrible hotel near nothing but the interstate. It was near empty and it's easy to see why with cramped rooms, terribly hard beds and no service to help us out with the situation we were in. We planned the trip down by the water where their map showed them. We received nothing but aggravation from X. and he stuck us in a room by the ice machine in this near empty hotel as if he had no where else to place us. They aren't queen size beds either. They're hard little doubles. As soon as I returned from my trip I went to the internet site and of course the map link is fixed, but I remember the picture of this hotel and everything else and know that it was listed wrong. So much for a nice holiday. I can't decide whether to hold it against all Best Westerns yet. I'll be letting corporate know and go from there.

Overall, I was comfortable. Bathroom and rest of the room was very outdated. When I asked for my linen to be replaced, the bed was not made all of the way. The pillows were very small and seemed old; as did the towels. AC was very loud.

We stayed 3 nights while visiting some family in JAX. There was no refrigerator which was very disappointing. The bed was way too soft and extremely uncomfortable and hard on backs. The location was wonderful, very easy to get to and close to our family. Lobby and breakfast area very well maintained. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms fairly clean, staff very nice. OK but probably would opt for a different place next time.

Well, the first room we were issued had slow drain toilet. We asked about the toilet the hotel promptly had us placed in a different room. The second room had dirty towels that seem to have hair from either the previous guest or from the house keeping. The room seem unclean and stuffy. The air conditioning unit was unusally noisy; I should know it kept me up..until finally I resorted to just using the fan. I wanted to complain about it but I didn't want to seem like pain. After our first day of enjoying the city we noticed that the access panel to A.C. unit had been left open so we figured that the hotel had fixed the A.C., well later that night the A.C. was even worse. The fan and the A.C. option created an loud sound. Whenever maintaince workers weren't

An average motel by all standards and I would have been happy with the stay except for the fact that this place caters more to pets than to people. I was unceremoniously woken at 8am by a barking poodle that rarely let up to catch it's breath for 1.5 hours till the couple returned from breakfast. Then the next night a different dog across the hall barked for at least 3 hours until the owners returned at 10:30pm. I say at least 3 hours because I came in at 7:30, the dog could have been barking all day I just don't know. I also tried to get some extra coffee from the cleaning lady the first morning of my visit and all I got was "Hola" and "I do this side". Well done Best Western I'm sure no other American wanted that job.

"Hotel is great for anyone having to visit someone at the nearby hospitals. Butler Blvd is major artery so expect long delays during rush hour and watch out for all the road work. Close to good restaurants, shopping, and short jaunt to beach. Staff is caring and friendly."
