We stayed at the Hotel Rivoli in March 2008 and my only real complaint is, like many hotels in Florence, the star rating system is not a good guide in picking a place to stay. The Hotel Rivoli merits only 3 stars at best, rather than 4. While in Florence I found that many hotels that received 4 stars should more realistically be rated 2 or 3 stars, while other 4 star hotels were truly worthy of the distinction. It really comes down to the fact that, to merit 4 stars, the rooms at the Rivoli are in need of updating (the are very drab) and the beds are uncomfortable. Other than that, we had a very nice stay and rest of the hotel is quaint with the lobby and courtyard being very nice. In addition, breakfast in the morning was not bad. So for anyone looking to go to Florence on a budget without any high expectations, the hotel is fine.

| My experience of Rivoli Hotel Florence was fantastic, especially as it came after one night at a hotel from hell. Needless to say I slept 10 hours in the comfort and security of the Best Western Hotel Rivoli Florence. The breakfast was terrific and location fantastic.
All staff were friendly and helpful.

Our stay at the Rivoli was a pleasant one while visiting our daughter at the University. Service staff was friendly and helpful. The location for the price was very good. If you need to connect to trains or buses the Best Western Hotel Rivoli Florence is a good option. Easy 10-15 min. walk to the heart of the city. Air quality in the room was a bit poor at times. This was are only negative.

The Rivoli was excellent for our 4 night stay in Florence, only 5 minutes from the railway/bus station and just a short walk away from all the sights, staff were friendly, comfy bed and excellent breakfast, take a swimming costume to use the beautiful outdoor jacuzzi, even in october it looked inviting, I didn't and regretted it Our room overlooked the enclosed garden and jacuzzi and was lovely Make sure you visit the Branacci Chapel and Santa Croce and take a walk to San Miniato and Piazza Michelangelo for spectacular views We used the Terravision bus from Pisa airport to Florence which was straight forward and good value and travelled by train back to Pisa which also was easy and cheap, had one night in Pisa to see the sights and be close to the airport for the flight back, worked out very well, recommend the Bologna in Pisa for a short stay

The hotel is close enough to the station (less than 5 minutes' walk) to mean that you can use the Rivoli as a centre for seeing Tuscany. Yet five minutes or so in the opposite direction takes you to all the sites of Florence. The added bonus of an outdoor jacuzzi, and two quiet gardens made the hotel ideal for our stay. We were upgraded to a room with a very large terrace overlooking the central courtyard / jacuzzi / garde, at no extra cost. Breakfast was undoubtedly the best that we have had in Italy, both in terms of the variety of food on offer and the facility to enjoy it outside if we felt like it. Plenty of good restaurants within 10 minutes walk. A wonderful stay, we would certainly return to the Rivoli in future.

this is a very cosy hotel with a nice inner garden and a very good breakfast for Italy. The hotel is well situated - almost everything can be done by foot. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much.

Hotel very well located to city center, walking distance. Nice quiet relaxing stay. I stayed at a peak period and found the city center shops/restraunts can be very expensive. €3.50 for 0.5litre still water not unusual.

The Rivoli is an easy walk from the train station. It is a great location for touring Florence. The staff was helpful and the facilities were great. There is a nice public area for drinks in the evening. Breakfast was poor. But most breakfasts in Italian hotels are poor in our opinion. We would stay at the Best Western Hotel Rivoli Florence again.

We were at the Rivoli for 10 days. It's a lovely place, pleasant garden spaces with comfortable seating. Breakfast was fine. The first room offered was cramped and dark, but when we refused it, we were offered a perfectly lovely one overlooking the atrium. That sort of thing happens in hotels often, so I wouldn't hold it against the Rivoli, but if you don't like the room, do ask to see another. The jacuzzi provided a soothing midday break and revived us to go back out and search for our dinner. There's enough activity on the street to make coming and going even at late hours feel comfortable. We were very happy with the Rivoli.

The staff at the Rivoli was friendly and fun. The commons areas need some updating, they have become quite run-down. The rooms were a bit noisy, we could hear every person on the stairs/elevator. The biggest problem, was the FLIGHT (not a few) of stairs you nedd to drag your luggage up to get to the lobby! The breakfast on the roof was lovely, the location is excellant.

Access to a gym and the whirlpool are free, and were excellent, but I missed them in the advertising! A welcome bonus! Air conditioning very intrusive. When it came on it was "reach for your hat time"!
