Ideal for the bank holiday weekendMy girlfriend and I stayed here for one night. Its in a great location just a few minutes walk into town. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean and basic and since we spent most of the time out and about it suited us fine. We did not eat at the hotel as we thought the price for B&B was expensive - we paid £90 for a standard double room - for this with breakfast was £121. We ate breakfast at a local cafe - £2.70 which is a lot cheaper. They have free car parking which is a bonus. I would stay here again if we came back to visit.

Had an excellent stay at the hotel. Even though we had booked Single rooms we were given an upgrade to a large Double Room. I would definately stay at this Hotel again when I am here on business.

I really enjoyed my stay. All staff were so welcoming and helpful and I was given a twin room despite booking a single.I would certainly stay here again.

I have always been appalled at the state of the British hotels I have stayed in - particularly in Cornwall - with worn out carpets, collapsed beds and outdated rooms, often in need of a good clean. I have recently stayed in a Best Western in York and, when I realised there was one in Newquay, decided to book it. I was not disappointed. Not exceedingly expensive but definitely a cut above the majority of smaller family owned hotels in similar price range.

This has always been a favourite Hotel of mine, growing up in Newquay, but this was the first chance I have had to actually stay there. It was a sad occasion though, the funeral of my best friend. It is a lovely Hotel, with lovely friendly people. No complaints.

The room I was in smelt musty and damp to the extent tht I slept with the window wide open to try to reduce the smell which was overpowering. I was only staying one night and it was fairly late whe I arrived. I did complain to reception in the morning and her response was 'well nobody else has complained'. How many complaints does it take? I found the food to be like school dinners plenty of it but no taste, breakfast was the same. I have stayed at Best Western hotels before both in the uk and in Europe without complaint however the way my complaint was dealt with by the receptionist shows a total disregard for customer care so in future I will vote with my feet and cross Best Western of my list of accommodation possibles. Very dated. Didn't find it value for money (and we didn't even pay full listed price) but made do for just an overnight stay. Having said that ,comparing it with the other hotels on the same street it was probably one of the better ones. We didn't eat there so not able to comment on the quality of food or standard of service. Generally dissapointed.

The rear of this hotel looks like a Glasgow tenement block. Car park at rear seems to be public and shared with a 'mixed clientele'. e.g. Four young gentlemen appear from one of the neighbouring houses , beer cans in hand and accompanied by the appropriate swearwords, get into suitable old banger and drive off in haste. Already encountered 2 stag parties before reaching rear hotel entrance. ( this is around 4pm on a Saturday ). Hope this does not sound snobbish but this is not impressive. Dining room staff were lovely, by the way.

The hotel was only a short walk from the town centre. The staff were warm and friendly as well as being helpful and efficient. The food was excellent. The breakfast selection was good and the food well cooked. The al la carte menu was excellent. The quality of the food, which was cooked to perfection, was fantastic as was the extremely reasonable price. Will definitely recommend the hotel to others

Room furniture more akin to the 70s, but comfortable bed and good room size - high ceilings etc from turn of last century. Hotel has style of its own. Excellent food at dinner and good breakfast service; waiting staff were helpful and efficient. Good seafront location, albeit when the wind got up the windows rattled a bit [made it feel all the more cosy, wrapped up in bed].
