We loved the hotel location, just a short walk from trendy restaurants and a few blocks away from Hollywood Boulevard. We were also very close to the Information Tourist Center. You can actually take a bus and in 1 hour you get to beautiful Santa Monica beach.

Overall it was just a great place to stay for the price. This is a great value.

Had a very pleasant stay here and would definately come back. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and safe. Only shame there was not an internet cafe in the lobby.

The hotel was in a great location; just a short walk to Hollywood Boulevard and the 'Walk of Fame'. And just a short car journey to Universal Studios. Great for Tourists! The rooms were modern, spacious and clean. Housekeeping/maintenance staff were very friendly.

Recommended by an L.A. friend of ours. Sure enough, it was right near Sunset Blvd, Hollywood & Vine plus a lot of nice restaurants and bookstores & right next to the freeway for easy travel. The room had a nice little kitchen area, couch and a large bathroom. The staff was very nice and helpful too. It helped make our trip a very enjoyable experience. The only minus was that the Internet connection (which was high speed and free) dropped out now and then. Otherwise, stay there!

The room size is typical of a hotel built many decades ago but the remodel that created the spacious bathroom was inspiring. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker really make it habitable. The cinema-influenced decor is just kitschie enough. But the highlight here is Cafe 101. Great food (B,L,D) at all hours (7am to 3am!) uber-hip staff and emerging stars and industry folks make for some interesting people-watching. Close to great dining and entertainment, it's a great stay.

The beds were magnificent, bathroom was A+. Only minus was exiting hotel from parking, and that was a small minus. Hotel was clean, quiet, staff was great! Great restaurant on premises! First time we have stayed since remodeling and it was well worth it. We will definitely make it our hotel when we travel to LA.

A very, very comfortable bed. Interesting shower facility (a dual shower in one stall). Good cafe located in the building. Parking was a bit tight.

front desk staff always had other things to do first then wait on me. It was a chore to answer my questions. Hotel VERY dirty throughout--never saw or heard a vacuum--evident by the hallways and bedroom. When I left a note to clean kitchen area that was dirty on my arrival, just cleaned coffee pot; walls and counter still left dirty. Blanket had body fluids on it at check-in. Yuck! Staff loud starting at 5:30 am. Bathroom window broken--would not totally close let alone lock. This place is in dire need of a quality assurance program starting with front desk. Location is good if looking for Hollywood activities.

The Best Western was a great place due to location and accessibility to Hollywood. I think they did a wonderful job updating and giving it a more modern feel. I would definitely give it another chance. The restaurant attached was also a big plus!! Convenience, location, and affordability rolled up into one package.

Location was great. Room was clean & in good condition. Staff was friendly. Night desk man needs to know where to refer travelers to local dining. I was very pleased with this hotel. We went to The Pantages theater for a play and the hotel is located 2 blocks away. They have a coffee shop and it is close to Universal Studios where there is dining and entertainment. The room was in great condition, clean and modern.

Very good hotel for the price. Very noisy though so don't expect a quiet night in.

Good and comfortable place to stay for couple of days. The room was very nice and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Walkable distance to Hollywood boulevard and near to Universal. Just off the 101\Hollywood freeway, lot of good places to eat nearby. Free parking and there were lot of spaces available. i would highly recommend and would definetly stay here again.

Great decor with lots of Hollywood pics everywhere. Some repair work was done in the rom and not painted over; there were several white spots all over. The hotel was very neat and in a good location if you don't mind a bit of walking. The staff was very friendly and quick to attend to all of our needs. It was right next to a busy street but there wasn't very much noise. My family and I would stay again.

The room was huge with refrigerator, coffee maker, bar area, desk and separate chairs. Beds were wonderful. Bathroom was upgraded, very clean. Staff was extremely helpful with directions, reservations, etc.

Roomwas spacious and had a great view. The elevator was old & a little claustrophobic. Fantastic location; very close to Hollywood & Vine. Friendly and helpful staff. Wish I had tried the nut n honey shake at the adjacent restaurant Coffee 101 - next time maybe. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It also had a view of the Hollywood sign. Hollywood & Vine was within walking distance & there is a little convenience store within a block of the hotel. Some traffic noise (to be expected). Two drawbacks to consider: the small old elevator & a lack of central air (there was a window unit in our room) might be a negative depending on the time of year you visit. Overall, very pleased with the accommodations.

We were a bit concerned about the main picture displayed of the hotel on this website, but we booked anyway and were very pleased with our stay. It is very close to everything that Hollywood has to offer (close to Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, Ventura Blvd, just off the 101, a close drive to Beverly Hills, and very easy drive to the Coast. The room was recently renovated and clean, the beds were so comfortable, the bathroom was huge and looked brand new (there were 2 sinks and a very large shower). The pool was cute, but we didn't really use it as there wasn't much time. The cafe attached to the hotel, "the 101 Cafe" had great food, cheap breakfast. Parking is a bit difficult at busy times, but aside from that, everything was very good. The front desk staff left a bit to be desired, but we hardly came in contact with them at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families, couples - anyone, really.
